Job description

OverviewStryten Energy manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

The Machine Operator is responsible to tend molding/finishing machines in line with quantity and quality standards set by company specifications. Inspects, trims, flames, clips, gauges parts, and packs product as required.

Opening on Day shift only; 5am - 3pm; Monday - Thursday.  Pay rate is $19.56/hour

Responsibilities
  • Must embrace and follow the Core Beliefs and Values of Stryten Energy.
  • Safety is our overriding priority. If an unsafe condition is found to exist, actions must be taken immediately to correct the situation to keep all team members safe and get manufacturing equipment operational as soon as possible.
  • Maintains press cycle necessary for quality parts and production standards
  • Keeps materials at adequate level for job. Assures label accuracy.
  • Keeps accurate production records. Completes labels properly.
  • Advises Supervisor of production problems, relays information to replacement operators regarding work status. During the shift, reports to workstation in timely manner, leaves station only when relieved or with Supervisor permission.
  • Visually inspects parts according to control plan, (i.e., shorts, flash, stress, damage, etc.)
  • Reports rejects as soon as possible to Quality Coordinator, Supervisor or as required on the control plan.
  • Performs dielectric test and other tests as required.
  • Uses attribute gauges to determine any non-conformance.Inspects for missing and damaged bushings.
  • Place inspection tag on pallet of painted (coated) lead after successfully coating lead per the control plan; this tag signifies that the lead is approved to be used in injection molding.
  • Maintains housekeeping and cleanliness of the production department as instructed by management as well as press upkeep as assigned.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to the Supervisor for immediate action.
  • Must complete all required hazardous waste training and comply with all Stryten hazardous waste and handling procedures.
  • The above list of responsibilities describes normal work, but the Supervisor may assign this person to duties not listed when production requirements dictate or when there is not enough work in the regular classification to fill out the workday.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing methods ensuring the highest quality, lowest cost, lowest scrap and optimum capacity.
  • Attend all Management meetings and training sessions, safety committee meetings, and all employee meetings as required by upper management.
  • Follow all ISO 9000 requirements including creating and maintaining ISO documents.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Skills
  • General verbal, written and math skills of adding, subtracting three (3) digit numbers required
  • Visual acuity to detect visual defects
  • Walking frequently at workstation and between workstation and packing
  • Able to stand up to four hours at a time.
  • Ability to bend at the waist (or w/knee) frequently
  • Use of both hands to grasp and pick up parts, trim parts, insert bushings, hold and use dielectric tester, pack and label parts frequently.
  • Good attendance and performance work history.
  • Must be able to handle large work. (35lbs. Minimum)
  • Must have the ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed/required basis in order to complete work in process and communicate with other shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and comfortably with all levels of management.
  • Motivated self-starter that can productively work alone and in groups to solve problems.
  • Proficient in English (ready, writing & verbal skills).
