The Role

Join a team where your craftsmanship powers some of the most advanced ships in the world. As an Outside Machinist, you'll work hands‑on with critical shipboard machinery, bringing complex mechanical systems to life in a fast‑paced, highly skilled environment.

What You Can Earn
Earn up to $35.99 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do
• Install, align, and repair key ship machinery including propulsion equipment, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilation systems, steering gear, and more.
• Work directly from detailed blueprints to assemble and integrate major mechanical components.
• Lay out and prepare passage holes in bulkheads, decks, and structural surfaces for shafting, steam lines, and mechanical connections.
• Perform precision alignment of reduction gears, bearings, shafting, propellers, rudders, and steering assemblies.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and alignment instruments to ensure top‑tier performance and safety.
