Inside the Role
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Mill and Lathe Operator. The successful candidate will be required to set up and operate CNC machinery that automatically mills, punches, and drills metal parts.
Primary tasks performed include operating HAAS, Cincinnati, Vertical Horizontal Lathes, machining small components, operating other CNC Machines as needed.

  • Starting pay of $21.85/hr. up to top pay of $30.84/hr.*
  • Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
  • Use of presses, bore machines, belt sanders, torque wrenches, small power tools, air tools, hoists in a safe and nondestructive manner and must be able train to read gauges for proper specifications.
  • Operating HAAS, Cincinnati, Vertical Horizontal Lathes, machining small components, operating other CNC Machines as needed.
  • CNC Certificate preferred.
  • CNC certificate must be obtained within 6 months of acceptance if not currently holding a certification.
  • Machining various components as needed.
  • Load and unload parts into CNC machinery
  • Operate to make parts to specifications and rate
  • Set-up and read gauges
  • Use of surface tester computer
  • Set-up and touch-off
  • Ability to understand machine codes and adjustments as needed, diagnose quality issues,
  • Operate torque wrenches, air tools, presses, gauges (manual, digital, auto), hoist, press
  • Use of pallet jack, hoist, other PIV equipment
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position
  • Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
  • Other tasks and/or duties as assigned
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy

Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. (with assistance from a team member or use of hoist)
  • Must maintain a clean work area.
  • Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
  • Cross train on other jobs as required
  • Ability to operate riveting, torqueing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
  • Read and understand Work Station Instruction documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating

Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
  • Previous mechanical experience
  • Currently holds CNC Certificate
    • Certificate must be obtained within 6 months of accepting position.
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
