General Machine Operator (CNC Machine) – 1st & 2nd Shift

Location: North Billerica, MA (On-Site)

Schedules Available:

  • 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Four 10-hour shifts)

  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday | 4:00 PM – 3:30 AM (Four 10-hour shifts)

Compensation & Shift Breakdown

To ensure full transparency, our pay rates are broken down by base wage and shift incentives below:

  • 1st Shift Target Range: $17.00 – $26.25 / hour (Base wage determined by experience level)

  • 2nd Shift Target Range: $18.70 – $28.88 / hour (Reflects the $17.00 – $26.25 base wage + a 10% shift premium)

Position Summary & Responsibilities

In this entry-level role, you will learn how to operate CNC machinery, load and unload parts, run production cycles, and detect malfunctions in operations (such as worn or damaged cutting tools). You will run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.

  • Safely load and unload parts into CNC machines.

  • Use basic measuring equipment to inspect parts and maintain detailed inspection logs (training provided).

  • Maintain required production rates and workflow.

  • Detect and report defective materials, machine variances, or questionable conditions to the supervisor.

  • Follow detailed work instructions and adhere strictly to all safety rules set forth by OSHA and Orion Castings policies.

  • Perform other production and housekeeping duties as assigned.

  • Willingness to Learn: Strong aptitude to learn and properly apply new technical information in a timely manner.
