The Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor will engage in a variety of responsibilities aimed at optimizing client care and outcomes. Key duties include:

• Providing psychotherapy and counseling to clients coping with environmental and psychological challenges stemming from medical issues, ensuring tailored interventions for individuals and families.
• Managing an independently assigned caseload, meeting the varying clinical acuity and psychosocial needs of each patient.
• Conducting case finding to identify patients and families who may benefit from psychosocial support, participating in team conferences, and contributing to interdisciplinary rounds to enhance collaborative care.
• Delivering effective therapeutic services including supportive counseling, grief counseling, and crisis intervention to assist clients through their challenges.
• Offering psychoeducation concerning the adaptation to diagnoses, illness, treatment, and prognosis, thereby fostering the transition from youth to adult services when necessary.
• Actively participating in quality assurance initiatives and community improvement efforts related to social work services, contributing to policy and procedure development.
• Conducting mental health diagnoses as part of a comprehensive treatment plan when appropriate.
• Providing clinical supervision to MSWs and student interns, facilitating professional growth and development.
• Maintaining thorough electronic medical records compliant with health system policies, ensuring orderly documentation and timely communication of case updates.
• Administering psychosocial assessments upon patient admission and on an ongoing basis, skillfully applying social work theories to address identified barriers to care.
• Collaborating closely with health care teams to formulate, implement, and adjust patient/family psychosocial treatment plans, accurately documenting progress to ensure continuity of care.

This role serves a diverse clientele, spanning various age groups including adult, geriatric, pediatric, and adolescent populations. Our counselors focus on effectively addressing their unique needs through customized interventions, with an emphasis on resilience building and coping strategies to enhance mental health outcomes.

• Possession of a valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California.
• A Master's degree in a behavioral science or related field from an accredited institution, providing a solid educational foundation for clinical practice.
• Proficient in applying assessment, interviewing, and counseling techniques, ensuring a nuanced understanding of client needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing thorough case narratives and reports for various audiences.
• Ability to work effectively within a remote team structure, demonstrating self-motivation, organization, and proactive engagement in client care.

• Previous experience in outpatient mental health settings, particularly with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated involvement in interdisciplinary collaboration, enhancing teamwork and patient-centered care.
• Experience in providing clinical supervision to MSWs and interns, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and mentorship.
