What types of projects can I expect to work on during a machine learning remote internship?

During a remote machine learning internship, you can expect to contribute to projects such as data preprocessing, model development, and performance evaluation. Interns often work on real-world datasets, applying techniques like regression, classification, clustering, or deep learning, depending on the organization's focus. Collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and other interns is common, typically via virtual meetings and shared code repositories. These projects provide hands-on experience and often culminate in presenting your findings to the team, offering valuable exposure to industry-standard workflows and tools.

What is a machine learning remote internship?

A Machine Learning Remote Internship is a temporary, structured work experience where interns contribute to machine learning projects from a remote location, such as their home. Interns typically work with teams on tasks like data preprocessing, building models, and evaluating results, while gaining practical knowledge and mentoring. These internships are ideal for students or recent graduates looking to develop their skills in machine learning, programming, and data science without the need to relocate. They often involve working with Python, popular ML libraries, and real-world datasets. Communication and collaboration are maintained through online tools and regular meetings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a machine learning remote intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Machine Learning Remote Intern, you need a solid background in programming (especially Python), mathematics/statistics, and a foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, often gained through coursework or relevant projects. Familiarity with machine learning libraries (like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn), version control systems (such as Git), and cloud platforms is typically expected. Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and effective remote communication set top interns apart. These skills and qualities enable efficient collaboration, successful project delivery, and continuous learning in a dynamic, distributed work environment.

Full-time

Job description

About us

TeleTracking began with a simple but powerful belief that no one should wait for the care they need. More than a slogan, it's a promise to continually improve healthcare.

TeleTracking builds groundbreaking technology incorporating deep clinical expertise. Our solutions are used in the nation's largest healthcare systems and around the world to positively impact patients, families and communities.

What's your contribution to the TeleTracking story?

When you chose to bring your passion and skills to helping achieve our purpose, you'll be part of a team that understands that there's a human life behind every data point.   Your skills, curiosity, and compassion-will help fuel our innovation and achieve the TeleTracking promise of revolutionizing modern healthcare.

About the role

As corporate counsel with strong SaaS/Commercial transactional experience, you will lead and scale the company's commercial legal function, reporting directly to the SVP, General Counsel. You'll own the full commercial deal cycle for a company that is leveraging AI capabilities in workflow solutions for healthcare, supporting enterprise and mid-market transactions globally while building the infrastructure, playbooks, and contracting process enablement that will carry us through the next phase of growth. This role sits at the intersection of legal, sales, product, and customer success, and the right person will be as comfortable closing a complex enterprise deal on customer paper as they are designing scalable self-serve resources for go-to-market teams. This role is hands-on and the expectation is that no job is too small or tactical for the candidate to tackle, while building their reputation as a trusted business partner to internal clients.  This role may be eligible for remote for the right candidate, but the preference is for on-site in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is not available.

What you will do

  • Own and drive the commercial legal function, directly enabling the company's revenue growth and customer expansion (primary focus is on commercial transactions across the United States, Canada, and the UK).
  • Continue building our commercial legal infrastructure (playbooks, escalation frameworks, template libraries, and self-serve resources) that scales with the business.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, distilling complex deal risks into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Work hand-in-hand with product and engineering, providing detailed, prioritized feedback grounded in commercial legal practice to make the product the strongest in the market for sell-side commercial teams.
  • Ensure that the company is complying with all pertinent regulatory requirements, including international expansion and technology export requirements.
  • Strong executive-facing communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal and business issues into clear, actionable guidance for senior leadership and sales teams.
  • Proven ability to balance legal risk with business objectives while maintaining deal velocity.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with sales, product, customer success, and security teams.
  • Comfort working under pressure, particularly during month-end and quarter-end closing periods.
  • Research and anticipate legal issues that could impact the company and prepare reports for senior leadership as needed from time to time.

What we look for

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school, active license in good standing in the United States.  Pennsylvania Bar admission preferred
  • 5 years of relevant legal experience, including a mix of large law firm and in-house experience, preferably with a software or healthcare technology company.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, and related legal and business issues.
  • Proven ability to identify and analyze legal issues, draft key documents, and present clear and concise recommendations to leadership teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders on cross functional teams at all levels of seniority.
  • Willingness and flexibility to be a team player and take on new responsibilities and challenges as TeleTracking and its businesses continue to evolve.
  • Creative thinker who is intellectually curious and able to resolve complex issues with a resourceful can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build excellent relationships with legal colleagues and business clients.
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, legal technology and CLM sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Privacy, particularly HIPAA and its impact in Healthcare Technology
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple challenging tasks and manage stakeholder expectations.
