Dr. Yune S Lee and The SLAM (Speech, Language, and Music) Lab at the University of Texas at Dallas is seeking to fill a 2-year postdoctoral (Research Associate) position. The SLAM Lab aims to understand the connections between Speech, Language, and Music in the context of communication disorders with the goal of developing music-based intervention programs. Our multidisciplinary studies involve extensive behavioral testing, multimodal MRI/EEG studies, genotyping assays, and non-invasive brain stimulation studies for several funded projects. Current lab members include PhD/master students, and Undergraduate and Graduate Research Assistants. See our lab website (https://utd-slam.github.io/) for more information about the lab.
This Research Associate will be primarily responsible for planning, conducting and directing a wide variety of experiments. Responsible for the evaluation and interpretation of research data. This position will conduct experiments using advanced equipment and applying complex techniques, methods and procedures; plan and execute the details of experiments according to research protocol.
This position is in the department of Speech, Language, and Hearing in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD - bbs.utdallas.edu). UTD is the fastest growing University in Texas, is ranked number 3 in the nation among universities less than 50 years old and houses a vibrant research community. The city of Dallas is an international economic hub with a vibrant cultural atmosphere and world-class sports and entertainment in a temperate climate.
Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Research experience in neuroimaging (fMRI/EEG/fNIRS) and/or brain stimulation (TMS, tDCS)
  • Strong data analytic background (e.g., statistics, signal processing, machine-learning) is a major plus

  • Assisting the PI in gathering and maintaining IRB materials
  • Other duties as assigned

  • A strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Strong background in Statistics
  • Strong skillsets in programming languages (eg., Matlab, python, R).
