MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Silverdale, WA. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and testing of engineering projects associated with Navy acoustics in the field of machine learning, UUV's, underwater acoustics
  • Conduct research and gather data to support project requirements pertaining to underwater acoustics, UUV operations and signal processing
  • Proactively prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering field, or an Associates degree with 3+ years of experience of experience, or a High School Diploma with 6+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • 2+ years of MATLAB experience
  • Academic or professional experience with machine learning principles and their application to automated systems
  • Experience with the design, testing, or operation of Unmanned Vehicles

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Underwater acoustics experience
  • Internship or co-op experience in an engineering role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documentation.
  • Self-starter with excellent people skills

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current and active Secret security clearance

Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000.00-$107,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, MANTECH invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
