Senior Machine Learning Developer 

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Machine Learning Developer to design and deliver intelligent, distributed systems that power large-scale AI and large language model (LLM) capabilities. In this role, you will shape cutting-edge infrastructure, mentor world-class engineers, and bring bold ideas from concept to production—driving meaningful impact across SAP’s global ecosystem.

Description

As a key member of our fast-moving team, you will have the unique opportunity to define and execute the vision for AI and LLM‑based systems at scale. We are looking for someone with exceptional programming expertise, deep distributed systems knowledge, and the curiosity and grit to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges. You will work across a diverse technology stack, collaborate closely with engineers and product leaders, and help set the technical direction for AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement production systems in Go, Java, and Python (full‑stack experience a plus).
• Build and optimize backend services, databases, APIs, and LLM infrastructure.
• Leverage technologies such as Kafka, Postgres, HANA, gRPC, and advanced LLM frameworks.
• Mentor and guide engineers from junior to senior levels, fostering technical excellence.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate business goals into scalable, high‑impact solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, with strong programming expertise.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering complex systems.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead initiatives from idea to deployment.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML and/or LLM systems in a production environment.
• Expertise in distributed systems design and implementation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to thrive in a global, multicultural team.

Principales responsabilités

• Conçoit et met en œuvre des systèmes de production dans Go, Java et Python (une expérience full-stack est un atout).
• Développe et optimise les services backend, les bases de données, les API et l’infrastructure LLM.
• Exploite des technologies telles que Kafka, Postgres, HANA, gRPC et les cadres LLM avancés.
• Conseille et oriente les ingénieurs débutants et expérimentés pour les aider à atteindre l’excellence technique.
• Collabore avec des équipes transversales pour traduire les objectifs métier en solutions évolutives à fort impact.

Qualifications minimales

• Baccalauréat en informatique, mathématiques, physique ou dans un domaine connexe, avec une solide expertise en programmation.
• Plus de 6 ans d’expérience en génie logiciel, avec une expérience avérée dans la mise en œuvre de systèmes complexes.
• Capacité avérée à travailler de façon autonome et à mener à bien des projets, de la conception au déploiement.
• Expérience pratique des systèmes d’IA/ML et/ou LLM dans un environnement de production.
• Expertise dans la conception et la mise en œuvre de systèmes distribués.
• Bonne connaissance des pipelines d’intégration et de livraison continues (CI/CD) et des pratiques de développement modernes.
• Excellente aptitude à communiquer en anglais et capacité à intégrer une équipe internationale et multiculturelle.

Qualifications souhaitées

• Contribution à des projets open source ou réalisation de projets techniques personnels significatifs.
• Expérience dans l’intégration de fonctionnalités d’IA à des produits d’entreprise à grande échelle.
• Solides compétences en matière de résolution de problèmes et approche itérative axée sur les résultats.
