    Job Overview

    AEVEX'sย  Intern Program is designed to challenge the next generation of engineers by immersing them in real, mission-critical work alongside scientists and engineers at the forefront of autonomous aerial systems. This summer, we are seeking a motivated high school student to join the Data Science group within our Navigation and Autonomy Center. The selected intern will work hands-on with our Data Science team to ingest, organize, process, and visualize flight test and robotics data. They will also contribute to the development and training of machine learning models for image matching and autonomous behavior - gaining experience that goes far beyond the typical internship.

    Essential Functions

    • Design and refine a data schema for the Foxglove visualization platform
    • Normalize and ingest flight logs and sensor data from autonomous aerial platforms
    • Develop automated pipelines using the Foxglove agent to streamline the ingestion of future flight data for RDT&E.
    • Assist in training and evaluating machine learning models for cross-modality image matching
    • Author technical reports and documentation to communicate findings and methodologies
    • Contribute positively to the AEVEX team culture and collaborative work environment
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Education / Certifications

    • Entering high school senior year
    • Completed AP Calculus BC or equivalent coursework

    Experience

    • Experience or coursework in image processing, computer vision, or machine learning
    • Exposure to the Robot Operating System (ROS) or robotics concepts
