About the job: The sourcing specialist is part of a project development team, including program management, engineering, quality, sales, manufacturing engineering, and reports to the business unit manager. This position will specifically handle prospection, quoting, short listing, negotiations and sourcing for all goods services and equipment (CAPEX) linked with developments and projects.  Activity covers molded plastic components, raw materials, packaging, surface treatments and machinery for manufacturing or others. The sourcing specialist drives his activities in order to ensure the key performance indicators: planning, budget and quality for the project he is assigned. Roles and responsibilities * Coordinate with project team to offer external resources and solutions in a timely manner. * Understand the project challenge and scope, complete a risk analysis per component category and define a sourcing strategy * Provide purchasing process for all goods and services for projects and developments. Also, be able lead and direct groups in performance of this function. * Ensure competitive advantage by reviewing supplier base and seeking new suppliers with new solutions. * Prospect and propose a list of suppliers, using benchmarking tools and other * Establish 1st contacts with potential suppliers, introduce the company and the project, process NDAs if needed * Build and send quoting packages * Summarize quotes, analyze the suppliers and define selection criteria with the project team in order to short list * Complete supplier assessment, audit with the project team and finalize the sourcing * Negotiates prices and contracts in collaboration with the leadership team and general counsel. Finalise and sign contracts * Identify and propose the best sourcing solution to optimize the project revenue, including components cost, transportation cost, quality, internal productivity and investments * Ensure the qualification and certification steps of products purchased through first step approval by the Quality Department. Support the project team in order to ensure established project timing * Create the supplier in the supply chain software, configure each components * Maintain supplier base structure with the manager of Purchasing, maintaining documents concerning supplier, materials, and components available.  * Establish and follow a monthly balanced scorecard.  Then a dashboard with strategic plan criteria of: quality, environment, security, innovation, productivity, and internalization. * Maintain and document the purchasing process steps (quotations, negotiations, decision making, qualifications, and supplier approval) * Interacts with suppliers to meet project’s needs. Support purchase requests and purchase orders during the project phase until the mass production * Consider Quality, Safety, and Environmental guidelines in this function. * Maintain, assess effectiveness of, and continuously improve and department procedures. * Be able to work independently in performance of assigned tasks. * Prepare and submit monthly reports summarizing the month’s activities and recommending actions for improvement. * Ability to travel to manufacturing plant, customers and vendors as needed. * Other related duties as required. Education and experience * Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience * 5 years minimum of related experience * High degree of accuracy and attention to detail * Working knowledge of purchasing processing software (SAP or SAGE ideally). * Background in plastic molding * Background in copper strips and electro plating preferred. * Previous experience in the automotive/manufacturing/connector industry preferred. * Experience with Microsoft Project or similar. * Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
