Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator1st & 2nd shift - $18/hr

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery used in the manufacturing of seating and related components. This role ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards while supporting production goals and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery used in the manufacturing of seating and related components according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent product quality, proper functioning, and adherence to production specifications.
  • Perform basic machine setup tasks, including adjustments and changeovers, to support different production runs and product requirements.
  • Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Interpret simple blueprints or production drawings to understand required measurements, tolerances, and component details.
  • Support general production activities, including handling sheet metal and related materials as needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues, irregularities, or potential safety concerns to the appropriate personnel to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks on production machinery as directed to help maintain equipment reliability and performance.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements, supporting efficiency initiatives, and maintaining a focus on quality.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience with machine operation in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • At least 1+ years of experience as a machine operator.
  • At least 1+ years of experience with machine setup, including adjustments and basic changeovers.
  • Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately for measurement verification.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how machines operate and respond to basic mechanical issues.
  • Experience with general production tasks, including working with sheet metal and related materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints or production drawings.
  • Capability to perform general labor duties in a production setting, including standing for extended periods and handling materials safely.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
