Job description

Join our manufacturing team and learn the basics of working in a machine shop. Our Machine Shop Assistant's support production by preparing materials and processing semi-finished production parts. We provide on-the-job training on equipment, tools and production workflow.

Full Time โ€“ Non-exempt: Monday โ€“ Thursday "4/10's" schedule with 6am start time

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Salary commensurate with experience: $17.00 - $19.00

What You'll Do:

  • Post-machining processing of parts, including use of processing equipment to clean and debur parts, hand tools for final cleaning of parts and general inspection of parts for good quality.
  • Fill, Empty, and sort parts from small tumble and vibratory deburring machines.
  • Bead blast parts and prep for outside finishing.
  • Cut raw materials on a band saw.
  • Deburr cut materials on belt sander.
  • Assistance with shop maintenance

Qualifications We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Good mechanical skills, including experience with work tools such as micrometers, calipers, gage pins, rulers, computers.
  • Reliability, teamwork and a positive attitude.
  • Detail oriented to handle small parts in large quantities.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to repetitively lift 30+ pounds.
  • Willingness to learn and improve skills constantly.
