Purpose Statement
The job of Dish Machine Operator (DMO) was created to assist in kitchen production operations while operating a commercial dish washer and assuring all cookware, dishes, utensils, glasses, and kitchen areas are cleaned to regulatory and company standards.
Essential Functions
  • Must work on-site and hold a current Food Handler's Card to assure that all food storage and preparation of meals meet all federal, state, and local guidelines, as per the company's policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assures all dishes, pots/pans, knifes, utensils, glassware and dishware are cleaned and sanitized, as prescribed by company procedures and guidelines.
  • Assures the dishwasher is working properly at all times.
  • Successfully assists in the cleaning, stocking, prepping and maintaining all stations, including the kitchen, storerooms and workstations.
  • Promptly reports to management any safety, guest, personnel and/or facility issues.
  • Successfully assists in the promoting culture of teamwork.
  • Prepare food consistent with designated recipes and timing standards.
  • Promptly reports all inventory needs of the area(s) responsible for to the manager, to assure supplies are always available.
  • Complies with all procedures of the company including but not limited to the Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Must be able to remain professional and be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing as per the company's formal communication procedures.
  • Successfully interact with, crewmembers, guests and managers.
  • Serves as an effective team member.
  • Maintains a clean uniform at all times.
  • Backs up co-workers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Environment
  • This position is primarily conducted indoors, including in a kitchen with exposure to hot surfaces, and sharp objects, with some work also done outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and hold an approved Parent/School Authorization form if between the ages of 16 and 17 up to 18 years of age.
  • The individual must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for entire shift minus break times.
  • The individual must have small motor movements which are associated with cutting, pouring, reaching, holding, and grabbing objects.
  • Must have a visual acuity which assures the individual can read all recipes, safety instructions and other critical information needed to perform the job.
  • Must have a hearing acuity which assures the individual can hear and understand verbal instructions when equipment is operating in the kitchen, guest orders, and manager instructions.

$17.13 - $22.13 per hour (Combined hourly wage* and average tip pool potential).
