Job description

Kinetic Personnel Group is seeking qualified candidates for multiple Bilingual Election Assistant (Spanish) positions for a County of San Bernardino Agency. The Bilingual Election Assistant will be responsible for preparing and executing the upcoming elections in San Bernardino County this election year. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the democratic process and gain valuable experience in a dynamic work environment.


These temporary project positions will range from 1 to 3 months supporting elections the Primary Election (June 2026) and General Election (November 2026). Must be able to work overtime from 10-12 hours per days including weekends closer to election day. The ideal candidates will be able to start early, 6am and work on Saturdays when needed.

Pay rate: $20.67/hr


Duties:

  • Proof election materials for accuracy including letter to letter comparison, formatting, and punctuation
  • Verify that election selection codes accurately display the correct ballot
  • Verify that all bitmaps and short names are displayed properly
  • Verify that audio is recorded correctly
  • Perform ballot tabulation logic testing to ensure ballot counting machines are tallying correctly (internally & for the public) including checking in, marking,  and testing ballots through ballot counting machine, assist in gathering results from tally server, filling out related paperwork
  • Type-setting and proofing all election material
  • Update workflow database
  • Manage and organize filing systems for various departmental processes
  • Any other election related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of proper English and Spanish usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation in oral and written communication
  • Fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish (Receive a score of 80% or higher on language test)        
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently with minimal direction
  • Basic/intermediate computer skills
  • Basic/intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment (Capacity to work for prolonged periods, whether seated or standing)
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
