What you'll do

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Engineer to join our team! As an M365 Cloud Engineer focusing on GCC-H deployment, you'll be responsible for administering and configuring the full suite of Microsoft 365 (M365) services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams, in a GCC-H environment! You will ensure these services operate securely and compliantly by implementing appropriate security measures and adhering to government regulations, including FedRAMP and NIST security controls. Your role will involve managing B2B services to support collaboration with partners and collaborating with external organizations to maintain seamless functionality between GCC-H and approved commercial clouds. Additionally, you will provide technical support, manage incidents, deploy and manage patches, monitor and maintain the M365 environment for availability and performance. You will also contribute to cross-departmental projects, ensuring that clear deliverables are met and supporting stakeholder reporting.


The day-to-day
  • Managing and supporting all M365 services, ensuring their configuration and monitoring are up-to-date.
  • Handling support tickets and troubleshooting M365 issues promptly using detailed monitoring tools and configurations specific to GCC-H environments.
  • Conducting regular audits and evidence collection to ensure compliance and alignment to security standards such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and FedRAMP.
  • Continuously collaborating with IT teams to integrate M365 services with other systems.
  • Using automation techniques and scripts to improve efficiency.
  • Being vigilant about service health and performance, responding swiftly to alerts, and maintaining communication with stakeholders regarding M365 services' status and performance.
  • Staying current with new features, tools, and standard processes in the M365 ecosystem.
  • Working with government bodies for compliance and security requirements.

What you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 administration in a large-scale environment.
  • Strong understanding of Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related M365 services.
  • Knowledge of government security and compliance requirements including FedRAMP, CMMC, and NIST 800-171.
  • Good knowledge of Information Security fundamentals, technologies, and principles.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, along with an analytical approach, and ability to translate technical risks into business terms.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate tasks.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in a collaborative team environment.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a United States Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to come onsite to a Viasat office location.

  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Information Protection Administrator, Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Azure certifications, or FedRAMP certifications.
  • Knowledge of Azure, AWS GovCloud, SQL/noSQL databases, network security (firewalls, VPNs), Active Directory, and Intune.
  • Analytical skills, capable of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Proactive approach toward improving processes, enhancing overall performance, and ensuring security compliance of M365 services.

Salary range
$121,000.00 - $191,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $150,000.00- $225,000.00/ annually
