Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company owned vehicles in accordance with all applicable state, federal and company rules, while adhering to all traffic laws, safety policies, and procedures.
  • Interact with guests and golfers, answer questions and provide directions.
  • Greet guests/Team Members and provide on boarding assistance.
  • Create memorable experiences during transportation service.
  • Maintain knowledge of all amenities and services offered at the resort and local area.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as inclement weather and confined areas.
  • Inspect vehicle daily and report any damage or safety concerns immediately to your leader.
  • Maintain accurate log of hours driven, vehicle maintenance and service requests.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance checks, fueling of vehicles and keep accurate logs.
  • Report maintenance defects to your leader.
  • Ensure cleanliness of vehicles, including interior and exterior.
  • Keep storage area clean, organized and stocked.
  • Report any accidents or incidents that may occur while operating the vehicle to your leader.
  • Be conversational with guests, remembering that the Driver will be a lasting impression for the guests.
  • Abide to required mandates by FMSCA and DOT requirements through FOLEY (tracking contractor).
  • Must maintain a good driving record and report any violations to your leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B driver’s license with passenger endorsement and good driving record is required.
  • Must meet Evermore Orlando Resort’s MVR guidelines.
  • Previous driving experience.
  • Ability to read maps.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures on the road.
  • Ability to interact with guests utilizing conversational English.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of performing role in a busy work environment.
  • Capable of working scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, nights and holidays.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding safety procedures and operating guidelines / instructions in English.

Department of Transportation (DOT) & Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Requirements:

The Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Safety Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) have stringent requirements for Commercial Driver's License (CDL) drivers to ensure safety on the roads. These requirements encompass various aspects, including qualifications, medical standards, testing, and ongoing compliance. DOT and FMSCA require CDL drivers to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing as per regulations, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing. This process can be facilitated through the Human Resources Team or an appropriate third-party provider. These requirements may include, but are not limited to:

  • Shuttle Drivers may be required to obtain a CDL, especially if the shuttle vehicle has a seating capacity exceeding a certain threshold.
  • DOT regulations may require shuttle drivers to pass a DOT medical examination to ensure they are physically fit to operate commercial vehicles.
  • Compliance with DOT regulations regarding the maximum number of hours a driver can drive a commercial vehicle, as well as mandatory rest breaks.
  • Pre-employment, random or post-accident drug and alcohol testing is required.

It's important for resort management to ensure that shuttle drivers are aware of and compliant with all relevant DOT and FMCSA regulations to maintain safety and legal compliance. Specific requirements may vary depending on the location and type of shuttle operations.

  • Random alcohol & drug testing mandated by DOT requirements.
  • Ability to have color recognition.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, work activities can occur inside and outside.
