Job description

Summary/Objective

Working under the direction of the school administrative team. The server is responsible for properly preparing and serving the school meal. Maintaining an orderly, clean environment during the lunch periods.

Essential Functions

Keep an accurate count of meals prepared and served for each day.

Maintain records if temperature checks for coolers (twice daily).

Record temperature of all hot and cold food items before serving to students.

Accurately measure food amounts by following the given charts.

Organize and maintain all supplies needed for daily service.

Inventory all cooler items and report to administrative assistant as necessary for ordering purposes.

Communicate regarding food deliveries regularly.

Builds a positive and ongoing professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents/guardians, special service personnel, support staff, administrators, and visitors.

Performs other duties on as-needed basis as determined by their supervisor.

Attend provided trainings and meetings provided by the school and Summit Academy Management.

Competencies

Arrive on time for duties.

Successfully complete applicable training each school year as mandated by the state and Summit Academy Management.

Ability to interact in a professional manner with students

Ability to interact in a professional manner with staff and to effectively work with them in a collaborative manner

Must be able to maintain confidentiality of student records and school business

Must have strong organizational and communication skills

Must assist in remaining compliant in matters monitored at the school, state, and federal level as appropriate.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma

  • Food Handling Certificate is preferred
  • Experience working in a school environment is preferred.
  • Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation
