Join Eagle Point School District 9 - Leading with Excellence and Innovation
Eagle Point School District 9 (EPSD9) is seeking a caring and proactive Monitor (Lunch) to support student
well-being during lunchtime at White Mountain Middle School. This part-time position is ideal for individuals who
enjoy working with children and are committed to fostering a safe and respectful school environment.
Located in the scenic Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, EPSD9 serves students in Eagle Point,
White City, and nearby rural areas. Our district embraces community values and promotes student success through innovative
instruction, supportive relationships, and engaging educational experiences.
About the Role
As a Lunch Monitor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring student safety and positive social interactions during the school's midday break.
This 3-hour position focuses specifically on lunchtime coverage and includes supervising students in the cafeteria and on the playground,
promoting safe and inclusive play, assisting with student needs, and maintaining a respectful and orderly environment.
You will remain visible and engaged in the designated areas, help students with problem-solving and interpersonal skills,
communicate concerns or incidents to appropriate staff, and follow school and district guidelines to ensure safety.
You will also be expected to assist with emergency procedures, provide support to students with special needs, and contribute to
behavior management efforts in coordination with school staff.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with youth and are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment.
Ideal candidates are reliable, observant, and able to relate to students of diverse backgrounds. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and positively with students and staff, respond calmly in minor incidents
and emergencies, and work indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is a plus,
and will be provided if not already completed. Respect for confidentiality, a commitment to equity, and a positive approach
to student engagement are essential.
