Summary:

Marmalade Restaurant is seeking a dependable and dedicated team member to help us grow as a Back of House Member that will be responsible as a Main Cook.  You will be working in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of breakfast and lunch menu items to order, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and cooking utensils and pots and pans as needed in our professional kitchen, as well as helping to track and maintain stock and kitchen supplies and ingredients.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all served food, breakfast and lunch together
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
  • Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
  • Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
  • Track supply usage and needs to help order and maintain stock and ingredients

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
  • proficiency of pan based egg and Fench style omelet creation, as well as grill and lunch techniques
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
