Job description

 

Summerfield of Gulfport is looking for a reliable LPN for our senior living community. Our LPN professional must be qualified and compassionate. We are looking for reliable, compassionate LPN's to care for our  residents in a professional and considerate manner. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. 

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications and assist with other basic medical care tasks
  • Record resident medical history accurately utilizing electronic medical records systems
  • Observe treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
  • Monitor resident condition and assist in composition of care plans and needs
  • Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
  • Communicate with residentsโ€™ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and instructions

Skills

  • Proven experience as LPN or similar role in an assisted living community or long-term care facility
  • Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with computerized EMARs required (We use PCC)
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and able to calmly handle stressful situations
