How does working remotely as an LPC Associate affect collaboration with supervisors and clients?

As a remote LPC Associate, you’ll primarily communicate with your supervisor and clients through secure telehealth platforms, video calls, and regular digital check-ins. This setup offers flexibility but requires strong self-management and proactive communication to ensure you’re meeting supervision requirements and maintaining client engagement. Many organizations set up structured virtual meetings and provide resources to help associates feel connected and supported. While building rapport remotely can be challenging at first, consistent communication and use of technology can foster productive professional relationships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote LPC Associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote LPC Associate, you need a master’s degree in counseling or a related field, completion of required supervised hours, and active LPC Associate licensure. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication tools is essential for remote service delivery. Strong empathy, self-motivation, and excellent verbal communication skills help you build rapport with clients and collaborate with supervisors virtually. These skills are crucial for providing effective mental health care, ensuring client confidentiality, and maintaining professional growth in a remote environment.

What is the difference between Lpc Associate Remote vs Lpc Counselor?

AspectLpc Associate RemoteLpc Counselor
CredentialsMaster's degree in counseling or related field, supervised hoursMaster's degree in counseling or related field, licensure required
Work EnvironmentRemote, telehealth platformsIn-person or telehealth settings
Employer & IndustryHealthcare providers, mental health clinics, telehealth companiesHospitals, clinics, private practices

The main difference is that an Lpc Associate Remote is typically in the supervised, pre-licensure phase working remotely, while an Lpc Counselor is fully licensed and may work in various settings, including in-person. Both roles require similar educational credentials, but licensure status distinguishes the fully qualified counselor from the associate.

What is an LPC Associate working remotely?

An LPC Associate is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, which means they are in the process of completing required supervised experience to become a fully licensed counselor. When working remotely, LPC Associates provide counseling services through telehealth platforms, allowing them to meet with clients virtually. They are still under supervision by a fully licensed LPC supervisor during this period. Remote LPC Associates must adhere to state laws regarding telehealth and supervision. This setup offers flexibility and access to clients who may not be able to attend in-person sessions.

Better You Counseling

Southlake, TX • On-site, Remote

Job description

Better You Counseling is hiring three full-time clinicians.

Join a multi-specialty group practice serving clients remotely and at our Southlake location. Better You Counseling is built for clinicians who want the flexibility of private practice without the administrative grind — you focus on the clinical work, and we handle everything else.
Focus only on clinical work. Your role is what you trained for: seeing clients, writing notes, and treatment planning. We handle all client communication, insurance, scheduling, billing, and no-show management — so your time goes to your clients, not operations. It's why our clinicians build full, steady caseloads without the administrative burnout common in solo practice.
Why clinicians choose Better You:
  • We do the work that isn't clinical — scheduling, billing, insurance, credentialing, and marketing are all handled, so you never chase clients or paperwork
  • A steady stream of well-matched referrals — build a full caseload within your first few months, with clients aligned to your areas of expertise
  • Real schedule and clinical autonomy — you set your hours, and we defer to your clinical judgment
  • Competitive compensation with no cap — full-time clinicians at a sustainable caseload typically earn $80,000–$95,000/year, and because there's no ceiling, you earn more as you build
  • A genuine clinician community — an accessible, collaborative team at our Southlake office
New associates (LPC-A): grow with us. Earn your supervised hours toward full licensure in-house, with our in-house supervisor on staff  — no need to find or pay for outside supervision. You'll get a competitive split, built-in mentorship, and a clear path from associate to fully licensed clinician within a practice that's invested in your growth.
What we handle so you don't have to:
  • All scheduling, billing, and insurance — including no-show and reschedule management
  • Full credentialing and CAQH management across payers
  • Advertising and marketing — your profile on our website and on platforms optimized for your location, expertise, and availability
  • An all-in-one telehealth platform

Requirements:
  • A mental health license in one of the following:
    • Independently licensed — LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or PsyD (practice without supervision), or
    • LPC Associate (LPC-A) — working toward full licensure under supervision (we supervise in-house)
  • Experience counseling adults, couples, and/or teens
  • Professional liability insurance
  • A private, professional space for sessions and a reliable laptop
  • Currently residing in the U.S.
Other certifications alone do not qualify (e.g., substance abuse, school, career, or Christian counseling; business coaching; RN) unless paired with a qualifying mental health license.

Schedule: Flexible — choose your hours. Monday–Saturday by appointment as needed. Full remote or hybrid.
