Heavy Equipment | Lowboy Operator

Alliance Construction is one of the Sioux Falls area's premier earthwork and general contractors, known for delivering quality projects and investing in great people. We're looking for an experienced Heavy Haul CDL / Lowboy Operator to safely transport heavy construction equipment between jobsites while becoming part of a team that values professionalism, safety, and career growth.

What You'll Do
  • Safely transport heavy construction equipment using a lowboy trailer
  • Load and unload excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and other heavy equipment
  • Secure loads using chains, binders, and other approved tie-down methods
  • Plan safe travel routes while complying with oversize and overweight permit requirements
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections
  • Maintain DOT logs and comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations
  • Ensure equipment is transported safely, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Communicate with dispatch and field personnel regarding deliveries and scheduling
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Clean driving record
  • 2–5 years of heavy haul, lowboy, or equipment transport experience preferred
  • Experience operating and loading heavy construction equipment
  • Strong understanding of load securement and DOT regulations
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Excellent attention to safety and detail
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
