As an Electrician, you will play a crucial role in the assembly of complex electrical systems on manufactured products while also maintaining the electrical infrastructure of the manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this job also can be assigned special projects to support factory safety, sustainability, growth, and development.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
  • Perform Installation of electrical equipment within assembled product;
  • Install electrical conduits within assembled product:
    • Pipe bending
    • EIMT conduit/rigid Perform Installation of lighting fixtures within assembled product;
  • Perform installation of high/low voltage electrical and control assemblies on manufactured products
  • Perform troubleshooting and function testing of electrical systems on assembled products
  • Perform planned, predictive, and unplanned electrical maintenance on production machinery and facility infrastructure
  • Perform new electrical installations of production equipment and facility infrastructure
  • Perform work associated with changes in manufacturing processes to support safety and efficiency.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with updating and maintaining maintenance management of software records.
  • Assist operations in the development of new manufacturing cells which could require performing some select production work.

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience & Skills
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a valid state/local electrician license
  • 4+ years of experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in an industrial or construction environment
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash and OSHA 10/30 certifications
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, PLCs, motor controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and electrical testing tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Familiarity with interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics
  • Preferred experience troubleshooting and/or programming PLC systems
  • Responsible, self-motivated, and a good team player
  • Knowledge and practical experience with standard computer applications
  • Adhering to OSHA regulations and using safety equipment.

Travel & Working Environment

  • External training at existing SPX locations including Olathe, KS and Montreal, Quebec
