Low Observable information

What is a low observable?

A low observable is a role focused on designing and implementing stealth technologies to reduce an aircraft or object's visibility to radar, infrared, and other detection methods. This often involves specialized skills in aerodynamics, materials, and electronic countermeasures, and may require security clearances. The job supports military and defense applications by enhancing the survivability of assets in hostile environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Low Observable position, and why are they important?

Excelling as a Low Observable (LO) technician or engineer requires a strong background in materials science, physics, or aerospace engineering, along with hands-on experience in composite fabrication and radar-absorbing materials. Familiarity with technical tools such as CAD software, non-destructive inspection equipment, and certifications like NDT Level II or certifications specific to LO technologies are often essential. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in classified or team-based environments are highly valued soft skills. These qualifications and skills are crucial for ensuring the integrity and performance of stealth technology on advanced military aircraft and assets.

What are some typical responsibilities of a Low Observable technician or engineer on a daily basis?

Low Observable professionals are primarily responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining stealth surfaces and structures on aircraft, using specialized tools and processes to minimize radar signatures. A typical day may involve performing hands-on composite repairs, applying radar-absorbent materials, conducting surface inspections, or verifying LO performance metrics. These roles require close collaboration with engineers, maintenance teams, and quality assurance personnel to ensure mission-readiness and compliance with strict security protocols. This environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented, offering opportunities to work with advanced technology and contribute to the cutting edge of aerospace defense.

What is a Low Observable job?

A Low Observable (LO) job involves the design, maintenance, and application of stealth technology to reduce an aircraft or vehicle's radar, infrared, and acoustic signature. Professionals in this field work with specialized coatings, materials, and shaping techniques to improve survivability and mission effectiveness. They may perform inspections, repairs, and upgrades to ensure stealth capabilities remain intact. LO specialists often work in aerospace or defense industries, supporting military aircraft like the F-22, F-35, and B-2 bomber.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

A Low Observable specialist, often involved in military or security sectors, can earn around $4,000 weekly through specialized skills such as stealth, surveillance, or tactical operations. These roles typically require extensive training, security clearances, and experience rather than formal degrees, and may involve work in defense, private security, or aerospace industries.

What are some low-effort jobs?

Low observable jobs typically involve roles with minimal physical activity, repetitive tasks, or limited responsibility, such as data entry, security monitoring, or basic administrative work. These jobs often require little specialized skill and may have flexible schedules, but they can also offer limited advancement opportunities.

Which 3 jobs will survive AI?

For a Low Observable specialist, jobs in areas like electronic warfare, stealth technology development, and maintenance of low observable systems are likely to persist due to their specialized technical requirements. These roles demand hands-on skills, security clearances, and expertise in radar-absorbent materials and signature management, making them less susceptible to automation. Continuous training and certification in defense technologies are essential for long-term employment in this field.

Job description

In a world of possibilities, pursue one with endless opportunities. Imagine Next! At Parsons, you can imagine a career where you thrive, work with exceptional people, and be yourself. Guided by our leadership vision of valuing people, embracing agility, and fostering growth, we cultivate an innovative culture that empowers you to achieve your full potential. Unleash your talent and redefine what's possible. Job Description: Parsons is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to help modernize and scale the network architecture for a mission-critical global platform operating across remote sites, centralized hubs, and AWS cloud environments. This role is ideal for an engineer who understands both the realities of physical field networking and the design of cloud-native, software-defined network fabrics. You will help transform a legacy, static, IP-heavy networking estate into a more virtualized, elastic, observable, and cloud-managed architecture. This includes hybrid connectivity from physical networks and appliances into AWS, building resilient virtual network topologies, and designing for highly variable traffic patterns ranging from steady-state operations to large event-driven surges. We are especially interested in engineers who can combine deep networking fundamentals, AWS cloud networking, automation/IaC, and emerging AIOps/telemetry-driven operations to improve reliability, scalability, and operational insight. What you will do * Design and implement hybrid network architectures spanning field sites, centralized environments, and AWS
* Build and modernize VPC-based network fabrics using AWS services
* Integrate physical firewalls, routed networks, and VPN-connected sites with virtual cloud networking and security appliances
* Reduce dependence on static routing and static public IP-heavy designs by introducing more flexible, software-defined, policy-driven network patterns
* Design for burst traffic, event-driven surges, failover, and high availability
* Create repeatable network deployments using Terraform, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices
* Improve network observability through flow logs, metrics, synthetic tests, alerting, and telemetry pipelines
* Contribute to AIOps/capacity planning initiatives using telemetry for anomaly detection, forecasting, and faster incident response
* Partner with cloud platform, field communications, software, observability, and security teams to deliver reliable end-to-end connectivity Required qualifications * 8+ years of experience in network engineering, cloud networking, or hybrid infrastructure engineering
* Strong hands-on experience with AWS networking in production, including VPC design, Transit Gateway, VPN/IPsec, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Route 53, and security segmentation and routing design
* Strong networking fundamentals, including IP networking, routing, BGP, NAT, DNS, high availability/failover, and network security fundamentals
* Experience connecting physical networks into cloud-based virtual networks
* Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling
* Experience troubleshooting across network, platform, and application boundaries
* Support for high-availability, mission-critical, or globally distributed systems Preferred qualifications * Experience with virtual firewalls/appliances such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent
* Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or CI/CD workflows
* Experience with SD-WAN, network virtualization, or large-scale WAN modernization
* Experience with network observability tools and platforms such as Grafana, ELK, Kibana, flow log analysis, and synthetic monitoring
* Experience applying AIOps, analytics, or ML-assisted techniques to anomaly detection, capacity planning, traffic analysis, and incident reduction
* Experience with remote systems, low bandwidth, or unreliable connections
* AWS certifications or equivalent practical cloud networking depth Why join Parsons in this role * Drive transformation of legacy field networking to cloud-native hybrid networking
* Work on technically challenging problems involving edge connectivity, cloud scale, elasticity, and observability
* Build systems that perform under everyday operations and major traffic surges
* Join a team where senior engineers have meaningful technical ownership and architectural influence Security Clearance Requirement: An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.
