Product Data Scientist

Bevi

Boston, MA • Hybrid

Full-time

Posted 12 days ago

Job description

Ever wonder how much of a lift a new flavor gives us, or which flavor a specific machine should be pouring in a specific office at a specific moment? That's this role. We're looking for a Product Data Scientist to support both our Beverage and Software product teams - measuring the incremental impact of every new flavor we launch, and building the recommendation engine that decides what each machine should offer next. You'll also own analytics across our Bevi-proprietary digital experiences, including the UI and the Well, plus our other websites (get a quote, order more, technical support). You'll partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering on both teams, turning data into a clear point of view on what we build next. We're looking for someone who spots what needs to get built before being asked, and drives it to done rather than waiting for direction.

Your Day to Day:

  • Own analytics for our Bevi-proprietary digital experiences, including the UI and the Well - consult with Software on tracking structure, and own the analysis that shows what's working and what's not to inform the product roadmap.
  • Own tracking and analytics for Bevi.co and Partner.co, including GA4 and tag management, to inform the product roadmap.
  • Recommend the right analytics tools for our web properties alongside GA4/GTM - session replay, self-serve data, testing, heatmaps - in partnership with Product.
  • Measure the incremental impact of new flavors, blending A/B testing with non-traditional methods where clean experiments aren't possible.
  • Build the flavor recommendation engine - models that identify the optimal flavor profile per machine (or cluster), within real constraints like weekly-max updates and required static options.
  • Translate data and analytics into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Build clear, informative dashboards and drive adoption to democratize product data.
  • Partner with data engineering and software teams on data quality, tagging, and instrumentation.

Who You Are:

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in product analytics, digital analytics, or data science.
  • Strong hands-on experience with GA4 and tag management (e.g., GTM) - comfortable owning both the tracking implementation and the analysis built on top of it.
  • Hands-on experience designing and analyzing experiments - A/B testing and non-traditional/quasi-experimental methods (e.g., pre/post, difference-in-differences, propensity score matching) for situations where clean randomization isn't possible.
  • Strong SQL and Python/R for querying, modeling, and analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, PowerBI, Hex).
  • You use AI tools in your own workflow to move faster (eg exploratory analysis, code, documentation), and think about how to make product data accessible to AI tools as well as people.
  • A proactive, go-getter mindset - you notice what needs to get built before you're asked, and drive your own work to completion without needing to be chased.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
