Job description

General Summary:
Reports directly to the Traffic Manager. Responsible for the safe transfer of products from Houston Distributing Companyโ€™s (HDCโ€™s) supplierโ€™s warehouses, hauling cooperage, dunnage and back hauls as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. When requested punctual pick up and delivery of transfers from HDCโ€™s warehouses.
  2. Punctual pick up and delivery of scheduled back-hauls and scheduled loads from HDCโ€™s suppliers and freight customers.
  3. Compliance with all safety procedures within the confines of HDCโ€™s suppliers and freight customerโ€™s properties.
  4. Must be capable of delivering to and picking up from each of HDCโ€™s freight customers.
  5. Accurate entry of required DOT logs or electronic HOS information.
  6. Responsible for ensuring compliance of State weight regulations for both the axle and gross weight of assigned loads and the correct setting of bulkheads to accommodate the assigned order/package to be picked up.
  7. Maintains the cleanliness of assigned equipment.
  8. Daily pre & post trip inspections.
  9. Scheduling of assigned equipment repairs and preventive maintenance with appropriate equipment provider.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Will assist with other projects as required.
2. Attired at all times in an HDC approved uniform
