Job description

Drive GREAT Futures
If you believe in the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, you'll be excited by the possibility of working as a Van Driver for our Early Learning Centers!
As a Van Driver, you'll have the opportunity to bring the youngest of our community youth to their earliest learning opportunities, inspired by GREAT values: Generosity, Respect, Encouragement, Accountability, and Trustworthiness. Boys & Girls Club is committed to practicing those values to create a community organization where you can be sure you're making a difference.
We are looking for part-time applicants available from 7:30am to 11:30am, Monday through Friday.
This position does not require previous experience, but previous experience will be preferred.
This position does not require special certification, but applicants must possess a valid Driver License with a clean driving record, and applicants with a valid CDL are preferred. Due to insurance requirements, this position does require that you be 25 years of age or older.
You will have the opportunity to focus on youth safety and educational opportunity by:
  • picking up and delivering Boys and Girls Club members aged three to five years in a safe and timely manner,
  • assisting Transportation or the Facilities Department with routine maintenance and upkeep,
  • and providing a safe and secure environment and experience for all Club members.

This position is expected to be highly accountable for their schedule and shifts, as this role is essential to daily operations. In addition, this position is part of our members' earliest exposures to schooling so being respectful, encouraging, and patient is key to this role.
While this position is not eligible for medical, vision, or dental benefits, it is eligible for PTO, Nivati wellness and counseling, and may be eligible for a company pension.

  • You know that quality early childcare is necessary for a strong community and are dedicated to that goal.
  • You want to bring positivity every day to every staff member, knowing how stressful and challenging child care is.
  • You believe that uniqueness should be celebrated and support including all persons, regardless of background or beliefs.
  • You respect your team and communicate when you are experiencing difficulty meeting responsibilities.
  • You are able to walk, talk, hear, stand, and sit for long periods of time, and occasionally to bend, kneel, run and/or climb.

As part of our commitment to child and member safety, there are some additional steps that all hires will be asked to complete.
  • Because the Early Learning Centers are licensed through the state, you will need to pass a child care background check, including for offenses related to drugs and alcohol, theft, abuse or neglect.
  • You will need to provide references. These references will need to be professional references from previous work experience.
  • You will also be asked to complete a DOT drug screen, which does include THC.
