Overview

Drives tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver household goods in loose or packaged form. Position manages the process to relocate residential household goods for customers nationally.

Responsibilities
    Maintain clean driving record and abides by all laws concerning the operation of a commercial vehicle.
  • Responsible for paperwork and equipment lineup to ensure that all delivery equipment, supplies and handling equipment are loaded on the truck. Reports any missing or inconsistent items immediately.
  • Performs pre-trip truck inspection and reports problems immediately to Dispatch Operations.
  • Executes activities as assigned by Dispatch, immediately report any routing or service changes encountered.
  • Initiates and maintains a professional report to the customer.
  • Performs thorough walk-through with customers before and after the move.
  • Reviews paperwork with customers and obtains appropriate signatures or payments as required.
  • Manages the packs household goods, padding furniture, safety and with care loading and unloading of household goods.
  • Perform delivery/removals according to customer specifications, including de-servicing, disassemble/reassemble, installation, residence protection and customer reporting as required.
  • Ensures all equipment returns to truck and/or facility upon completion of job.
  • Cleans truck upon return to facility and properly removes any stored equipment.
  • Maintains contact throughout each day with dispatch/operations.
  • Lifting, moving and placing heavy items by hand or with assistance of material handling equipment such as a hand-truck or dolly.
Qualifications
  • Active Class "A" CDL License
  • Prior moving & storage or furniture delivery experience
  • Experience as a crew leader, supervisor, or logistics specialistDOT physical card
  • More than 1 year driving with a commercial (Class A) license
  • Stamina to lift heavy items (75 lbs. or more) repeatedly while climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, walking, etc.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired.
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to process paperwork
  • Strong problem-solving skills
