PORT DRAYAGE | HOME DAILY | ELECTRIC TRUCKS


Hight Electric is a growing logistics company leading the transition to zero-emission transportation. Based in Long Beach, CA, we specialize in port drayage and operate electric trucks throughout Southern California.

We're looking for a, dependable CDL Class A Driver to join our night shift team. If you have port experience, and want consistent work we want to hear from you!


WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a CDL Class A Port Drayage Driver, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting containers to and from the Ports while providing professional service to customers, terminals, and dispatch.

  • Safely operate company trucks and transport containers to and from the Ports
  • Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Safely secure and transport loads
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (e-Logs) and required documentation
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and terminal personnel
  • Complete pickups and deliveries safely and on schedule
  • Maintain a clean driving record and properly care for company equipment
  • Attend required safety meetings and training
  • Perform other duties as assigned


THE SCHEDULE

Night Shift / 2nd Shift

  • Primarily local port drayage
  • Home Daily
  • Consistent work


WHAT YOU NEED

  • Valid
    Class A CDL
  • Valid TWIC Card - Required
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • Ability to work a night shift schedule
  • Clean driving record
  • Hazmat endorsement - preferred
  • Tanker endorsement - preferred
  • Flatbed experience - preferred but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, push, and pull as needed
  • Ability to safely perform duties associated with container transportation
