About the Job:
Fountain Square of Lompoc is looking for caregivers to work the AM, PM, or NOC shifts. If you love Assisted Living and have a heart for seniors, we'd love to meet you!
We are a small, assisted living community conveniently located in Lompoc, California.
Summary:
  • Administers care in the community, assists residents by performing assigned tasks, and assists any caregiving personnel when necessary by performing the following duties.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing Resident services and other duties as assigned. Duties include personal services, activities of daily living, social-recreational activities, life enrichment, meal services, and other tasks as needed for Resident care and service delivery.

Primary Essential Job Duties:
  • Administers care to residents in accordance with established plans of care or communicated by the wellness director, administrator, or other community personnel.
  • Reviews, updates, and maintains Caregiverโ€™s notes on a daily basis.
  • Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Residents.
  • Performs duties listed on the Caregiverโ€™s logsheet regarding the clientโ€™s status and care, including but not limited to monitoring resident's overall health and well-being, personal hygiene, assistance with commode; showers, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, lifting, cleaning, bathing, escorting to meals and activities, bringing meals to room.
  • Assists with activities of daily living/ADLs, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics consistently in accordance with training procedures, transfers, and ambulates residents in a safe manner.
  • Assists with vital signs and weight monitoring monthly or more frequently as required for all Residents and completes all required documentation.
  • Puts Resident Service First: Ensures that Residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individualsโ€™ needs and rights.
  • Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
  • Arrives before their shift to perform a โ€œhandoverโ€ exchange of information regarding the status of the client, reviews of notes, convey messages and memos to be updated by outgoing Caregiver, and follow procedures.
  • Maintains security of residence according to established procedures, including lights, locking doors, securing garage, and guidelines regarding visitors.
  • Participates in educational programs as required.
  • Evacuate the client from the residence safely and rapidly if necessary, in an emergency.
  • Communicate with the Caregiver Coordinator regarding the clientโ€™s status, maintenance or supplies, and personnel issues, concerns, or suggestions.

Job Qualifications:
  • A minimum of one year experience in working with older adults as a personal care assistant is preferred.
  • At least 18 years old, or older if required per the state regulations.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or relevant certification is preferred.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards seniors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
  • Understanding of proper lifting and caregiving techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Caregivers must be reliable and punctual.
