Job description

JOB SUMMARY
This position will support the paint department by preparing ENVE components for painting and applying color.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1) Visually inspect composite components for surface blemishes, performing light manual sanding and buffing of surface area to ensure a smooth surface with no imperfections.
2) Mix hardeners and fillers per directions and apply to parts as needed, re-sand after dry.
3) Mask components with tape per work instructions
4) Assemble prepped components onto fixture.
5) Spray magna coat and primers.
6) Adhere to deadlines for paint production schedules.
7) Mixing and applying base coat color to achieve desired outcome as presented by product team and consumer.
8) Applying paint masks, stencils, and other custom logo designs as well as hand mask, tape and apply paint masks, stencils, and other custom logo designs to deliver final paint design.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
1) Works closely with Paint Supervisor to establish efficiencies and ensure on time delivery of product to end consumers.
2) Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
3) Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
4) Follow all procedures as they pertain to this position.
5) Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities. This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day however the schedule can also be Tuesday through Friday, 10 hours per day. This position may also be required to work up to 12 hours per day as well as other days (e.g., Friday, Saturday, Monday) as job duties demand. Regular onsite attendance is expected and required.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (R) = Required (P) = Preferred (Equivalent combinations will be considered)
(R) High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
(R) 1+ years of hands-on painting experience, preferably painting bicycle frames.
(R) Industry best practices as they relate to paint preparation and finish methods.
SKILLS (LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, REASONING, OTHER)
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and the desire to provide exceptional products to our customers.
  • Ability to work with a team to accomplish goals and efficiently meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and efficiently with general instruction and limited supervision.
  • Possess communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across the department.

PHYSICAL / VISUAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator; this is required when painting.
  • Requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Must be able to lift tools and assemblies weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away; ability to "pick up" on small details is "picky" when it comes to ensuring the accuracy and quality of paint applications.
