Description


The Transportation and Logistics Manager is responsible for the management of customer accounts, ensuring that compliance and contractual obligations are met. We would like this person to be located in Richmond or Logan, UT. We are open to remote as well.
Transportation and Logistics Responsibilities:
  • Ensure optimum delivery reliability to the customer by developing efficient and effective production flow processes.
  • Maintain customer focus by supporting sales, operations, supply chain, and customer experience teams by working with third-party carriers to ensure on-time delivery to customers, as well as timely delivery of ingredients, packaging, and other procured products to operational plants for further manufacturing.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the operation's communication, interaction, and relationship with the customer, company drivers and third-party carriers.
  • Anticipate, analyze, and troubleshoot problems with deliveries and devise cost-effective and legal solutions.
  • Coordinate customer pick-ups and delivery schedules, supplier pick-ups, and internal back hauls.
  • Manage rail transportation with multiple railroad companies, including billing and logistically tracking each of our rail cars in our system.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and foster a positive team dynamic.
  • Identify opportunities to increase performance, improve processes and find efficiencies, and coordinate with leaders to implement solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned/needed.

  • Qualifications

    Transportation and Logistics Manager Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, preferably in food transportation.
  • 2+ years of transportation and/or logistics management experience.
  • Knowledge of the Transportation industry, logistics, and regulations (49 CFR).
  • Experience with hiring, onboarding, and overseeing drivers and driver operations.
  • Fleet management experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable communicating with people outside the organization.
  • Proven ability to work in a high pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Experience working with executives.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to embrace changes to adapt to shifting business needs and emerging technologies.
  • Well-organized and self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision, including ability to independently identify, research, and resolve issues.
  • Possess strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Highly proficient or willing to learn Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
