POSITION SUMMARY

The Field Logistics & Material Handling Technician is responsible for managing on-site inventory, material flow, and kit preparation to support installation activities on commercial fleet vehicles.

This role ensures materials are properly received, stored, tracked, and staged to enable efficient, uninterrupted installation operations. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining material availability, organization, and traceability throughout the deployment. This position reports to the Site Leader.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Management

  • Receive and verify incoming materials delivered to site
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and track material usage
  • Perform routine inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies
  • Ensure secure storage and proper handling of all materials within on-site containers (e.g., PODs)

Material Staging & Kit Preparation

  • Prepare and stage installation kits in alignment with daily production schedules
  • Ensure all required components are available and organized prior to installation activities
  • Support just-in-time (JIT) material flow to installation teams
  • Coordinate material readiness to prevent delays or interruptions

Material Handling & Organization

  • Manage material flow between storage areas and installation zones
  • Maintain organized and efficient storage layout within PODs/containers
  • Ensure proper handling of components to prevent damage or loss
  • Support material replenishment and restocking as needed

Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with Site Leader and installation teams to align material availability with production needs
  • Support site readiness activities prior to installation start
  • Assist in tracking deliveries, shortages, or damaged materials
  • Communicate material-related issues impacting operations

Tracking & Documentation

  • Record inventory movements, material usage, and kit preparation using PAC digital tools (PATHFINDER)
  • Maintain traceability of materials at the VIN or kit level as required
  • Capture and report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged components

Safety Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and material handling guidelines
  • Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free storage and work areas
  • Report safety risks, incidents, or near misses

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with installation technicians and Site Leader to support daily execution
  • Provide timely material support to ensure installation continuity
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new personnel as needed

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, storage efficiency, and inventory accuracy
  • Support implementation of improved logistics processes and best practices
  • Provide feedback on material handling challenges and process optimization

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or material handling roles
  • Experience with inventory management and material tracking
  • Ability to organize and manage materials in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and installation environments
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required
  • Valid driver's license

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience supporting field operations or mobile installation programs
  • Familiarity with just-in-time (JIT) material flow
  • Experience using digital tools for inventory tracking or reporting
  • Experience in automotive or fleet-related environments

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned to this project must comply with the following requirements:

  • Work Authorization: All employees must have valid legal authorization to work in the US.
  • Safety Compliance: All employees must always follow safety regulations and immediately report any potential risks or unsafe conditions during operations.
  • Work Standards: Personnel must follow the established working procedures, including punctuality, adherence to process instructions, and meeting expected performance levels.
