Position Summary 

ATALCO is seeking an experienced Expeditor & Logistics Coordinator to support procurement, supplier performance, transportation, importation, and material delivery activities across the organization. This position is responsible for proactively managing supplier delivery performance, expediting critical materials and services, coordinating domestic and international shipments, and ensuring timely customs clearance of imported goods.

The Expeditor & Logistics Coordinator serves as a critical link between suppliers, freight providers, customs brokers, Procurement, Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Project teams. The successful candidate will ensure materials are delivered on time, identify and mitigate supply chain risks, resolve shipment issues, and support operational continuity across multiple business functions.

This role is ideal for a highly organized supply chain professional with strong expediting, logistics, import/export, and supplier management experience within industrial, manufacturing, mining, metals, chemical, or heavy industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Expediting & Supplier Performance

Manage the expediting process for purchase orders, contracts, and supplier commitments to ensure on-time delivery of materials, equipment, and services.

Monitor supplier production schedules, lead times, milestone commitments, and delivery dates.

Proactively communicate with suppliers to identify and resolve potential delays before they impact operations or project schedules.

Maintain detailed status reports for critical purchase orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules.

Escalate delivery risks and collaborate with Procurement and Operations teams to develop mitigation and recovery plans.

Track and report supplier delivery performance metrics, including On-Time Delivery (OTD) and supplier responsiveness.

Coordinate supplier progress meetings, delivery reviews, and corrective action initiatives when required.

Support supplier relationship management activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Logistics & Transportation Coordination

Coordinate domestic and international transportation activities for materials, equipment, and project-related shipments.

Collaborate with freight carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, and suppliers to ensure efficient movement of goods.

Monitor shipment status and delivery milestones from supplier shipment through final destination receipt.

Review transportation options and support efforts to optimize freight costs, transit times, and service performance.

Resolve transportation issues including delays, damages, shortages, routing challenges, and carrier performance concerns.

Coordinate expedited shipments for critical operational and maintenance requirements.

Importation & Customs Compliance

Coordinate import and export activities in compliance with applicable regulations and company requirements.

Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely customs clearance.

Review and validate commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, harmonized tariff classifications, and other import/export documentation.

Ensure all customs documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.

Monitor import shipments through customs clearance and delivery to final destination.

Resolve customs-related issues that may delay shipments or impact operations.

Support compliance with applicable trade regulations, import requirements, and customs procedures.

Procurement & Operations Support

Work closely with Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to support material availability requirements.

Assist in prioritizing critical material requirements to support maintenance activities, outages, turnarounds, and capital projects.

Maintain accurate shipment and delivery records within ERP systems and reporting tools.

Support procurement teams by providing supplier performance updates, delivery forecasts, and supply risk assessments.

Participate in supply chain planning meetings and project status reviews.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Transportation, Operations, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in expediting, logistics, transportation, procurement support, supply chain operations, or materials management.

Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.

Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and import/export documentation.
