In this context we are looking for a Head of Logistics Operations - Americas, to join our warehousing and distribution team near Dulles Airport in Sterling, VA.
In this role you will have full responsibility and accountability for the overall warehouse operations in the Americas. This represents a 186,200 sqft warehouse in Washington D.C./Dulles and a 26,400 sqft warehouse in Miami, FL. The focus is on the overall leadership of the warehouse sites, driving high performance, quality, and strategic direction. Together with about 150 employees, you will achieve operational, functional, and strategic objectives with a sizable impact on short-term performance, ensuring maximum service for our aviation customers. Both sites are strategic pillars in our global warehouse network, alongside locations in Hamburg, Copenhagen, London, Singapore, Beijing, and Dubai. In this role, you will join the global logistics leadership team and take responsibility for the design of globally applicable logistics processes.
You will report directly to the Head of Global Logistics & Repair in Copenhagen/Denmark while also indirectly reporting to HO Operations Americas.
The position will be based in Dulles and requires regional and international traveling.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
Primary Responsibilities: 95%
Warehouse Operations & Strategy
  • Direct, persuade, and influence internal and external decision-makers at higher levels. Lead negotiations and representation on both operational and strategic levels to ensure targets are achieved, driving continuous improvement and long-term development
  • Contribute to the further development of the global footprint of locations as well as the technical development and infrastructure. Work closely and interact with global logistics functions.
  • Set clear objectives, targets and success criteria in accordance with logistics and company strategy.
  • Establish and drive regional logistics strategies to exceed customer expectations by ensuring high operational performance with on-time, defect-free, and customer-centric services.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure continuous improvement in the designated area, in line with broader organizational goals and objectives by utilizing lean methodologies
  • Implement transversal collaborative efforts between all operations functions, customer facing teams, transformation and performance improvement, commercial and product management.

Team and Leadership
  • Carry out all (disciplinary and functional) leadership activities for teams composed of managers and professionals or experts to lead all operations for warehousing and shipping and continuously exceed customers expectations

Compliance, Risk Management & Safety
  • Ensure stability and contingency in operations through structured and continuous risk and safety management, while applying HS&E policies at all times
  • Oversee risk assessment and mitigation governance throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the identification and resolution of complex and unprecedented problems simultaneously impacting the delay, cost, performance, and quality of the portfolio, thereby minimizing operational impact
  • Promote and support internal/external audits and all other operational reviews to ensure warehouse process compliance and adherence with laws, regulatory and aviation specific regulations.

Financial & Resource Management
  • Ensure key targets are met in regards of operational on-time and on-quality performance, customers' satisfaction and cost efficiency
  • Manage CAPEX, OPEX, and headcount budgets in accordance with Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and functional targets.
  • Initiate and develop sustainability measures in the responsible area and contribute to Satair ambitions

Additional Responsibilities 5%
  • Understand, live, and ensure compliance with Satair Group's mission, values, Quality Management, and Ethics & Compliance guidelines
  • Be well informed about and familiar with the latest developments in Satair Group's business

ABOUT YOU
  • An Bachelor's Degree in logistics / supply chain management or comparable education
  • Prefer Masters Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
  • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management or equivalent Materials Management.
  • 5 years of leadership experience inclusive of a candidate's total experience.
  • Strong knowledge of people operations, materials and inventory management, warehouse processes, automation and transport operations.
  • Experience in the aerospace aftermarket, customer services, or after-sales operations within the aviation industry, preferred

  • 20% Domestic and International
  • Willingness to travel in the responsible region and abroad

Citizenship:
  • Authorized to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship

Salary range based on the required profile: $160000 - 175000/year. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
