About the Role


Senior Director, Supply Chain Operations

The Senior Director, Supply Chain Operations leads and optimizes Blue Marble’s global supply chain, including inventory planning, S&OP, logistics, fulfillment, distribution, and supply chain systems.


This role owns inventory strategy and execution across all channels and distribution nodes, ensuring strong service levels, inventory performance, forecast alignment, working capital efficiency, and scalable operations. The position leads inventory planning and logistics teams, oversees global transportation and 3PL partners, and drives systems integration, process improvement, and operational visibility to support continued growth.


What You’ll Do

Supply Chain Strategy & Operations

  • Design and optimize Blue Marble’s global distribution and 3PL network.
  • Evaluate and onboard logistics partners to support business growth.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, cost, automation, and scalability.
  • Assess emerging technologies and tools that improve operational efficiency and visibility.

Inventory Planning & S&OP

  • Own inventory planning and inventory investment across all channels.
  • Lead the monthly S&OP process, aligning Sales, Product Development, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Operations, and Finance.
  • Improve forecast accuracy, inventory turns, fill rates, GMROI, weeks of supply, and working capital performance.
  • Establish inventory policies, safety stock strategies, and inventory deployment methodologies.
  • Optimize inventory positioning across Amazon FBA, domestic warehouses, and international distribution centers.
  • Identify and mitigate inventory risks, including stockouts, excess inventory, and new product launches.

Logistics, Transportation & 3PL Management

  • Manage all 3PL relationships, including contracts, SLAs, KPIs, pricing, and performance.
  • Lead logistics operations supporting inbound, outbound, domestic, and international transportation.
  • Oversee ocean freight, customs clearance, drayage, transloading, and domestic distribution from Asia-based manufacturing partners.
  • Manage freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
  • Optimize freight spend through routing, consolidation, and carrier negotiations.
  • Ensure retailer compliance and minimize chargebacks, deductions, and transportation exceptions.

Omnichannel Fulfillment & Customer Supply Chain

  • Support retail, wholesale, marketplace, distributor, and direct-to-consumer fulfillment operations.
  • Lead logistics operations supporting Amazon Vendor Central, FBA, and direct-import programs.
  • Manage inventory flow and replenishment across fulfillment channels.
  • Partner with major retailers and distributors to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
  • Support onboarding, vendor setup, and operational scorecard improvements.

Analytics, Systems & Integration

  • Develop dashboards and KPI reporting across inventory, logistics, fulfillment, and customer service.
  • Monitor metrics including inventory turns, GMROI, fill rate, OTIF, forecast accuracy, and fulfillment cost.
  • Lead integration and optimization of ERP, WMS, TMS, OMS, EDI, API, and related supply chain systems.
  • Ensure accurate and automated data exchange among customers, partners, marketplaces, and logistics providers.
  • Establish governance for master data, transaction integrity, and operational reporting.

Leadership & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and international trade requirements.
  • Support audits, retailer compliance reviews, and reverse logistics processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support new product launches, promotions, and growth initiatives.
  • Build and develop high-performing planning and logistics teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.


What You Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Demonstrated experience leading demand planning, supply planning, and S&OP processes.
  • Proven success improving inventory turns, GMROI, forecast accuracy, service levels, and working capital performance.
  • Experience managing inventory deployment across Amazon, retail, distributor, and 3PL networks.
  • Strong background in 3PL management, contract negotiation, and operational governance.
  • Experience supporting Amazon Vendor Central, FBA, direct-import, and omnichannel fulfillment operations.
  • Expertise in international logistics, ocean freight, customs clearance, and import operations.
  • Experience implementing EDI transaction sets (850, 855, 856, 810, 846) and API-based integrations.
  • Strong understanding of ERP, WMS, TMS, OMS, retailer portals, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
