Korean Bilingual Supply Chain Manager / DIR-GET
  • Work Schedule: The position will transition into a permanent 2nd shift schedule as operations ramp up
    • August (Pilot Period): Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM - 7:30 PM
    • September (Pilot Period): Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
    • Beginning October: Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM (Regular 2nd Shift)

    • Fluent bilingual communication skills in Korean and English (Required)

Position Overview
The SCM-II 2nd Shift Operations Manager will oversee yard, shuttle, and transportation operations to ensure uninterrupted delivery of parts to production lines. This role will be responsible for operational performance, safety compliance, customer communication, KPI management, financial reporting, and leadership of supervisors, coordinators, and drivers.


Key Responsibilities
1. Transportation & Production Logistics Operations
Supervise daily shuttle, yard, switching, and internal transportation operations
supporting HMGMA production activities.
Coordinate driver assignments, trailer utilization, and transportation schedules to ensure uninterrupted production support.
Monitor trailer inventory, yard activities, dock operations, and returnable asset
movements.

Ensure timely movement of automotive parts, racks, containers, and production materials between warehouses, suppliers, and production areas.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to prevent
production disruptions.
Support contingency planning and operational recovery during production surges, equipment failures, and transportation delays.
Act as shift leader during manager absences or off-shift operations.


2. Automotive Parts Transportation & Delivery Accuracy
Review customer orders, transportation requests, production schedules, and delivery priorities before dispatching drivers.
Verify that drivers transport the correct parts, quantities, and materials to designated production locations.
Ensure drivers confirm destination accuracy, part numbers, packaging conditions, and delivery requirements before movement.
Verify that all transported loads are properly secured and safe for movement within the facility.
Monitor transportation activities to prevent misdeliveries, shortages, and production interruptions.
Coordinate with customer representatives and plant personnel to resolve delivery discrepancies or operational issues.
Investigate delivery errors and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain delivery accuracy records and support continuous improvement initiatives.


3. Driver & Workforce Supervision
Directly supervise drivers, yard personnel, and transportation associates.
Conduct daily shift meetings, operational briefings, and safety discussions.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and overall workforce performance.
Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and performance feedback.
Assist with onboarding and qualification of new employees.
Participate in employee performance evaluations and disciplinary recommendations.
Promote employee engagement, accountability, and retention.


4. Attendance, Timekeeping & Payroll Support
Review and validate driver timesheets, attendance records, break periods, and overtime hours.
Monitor daily staffing levels and ensure adequate coverage for all operational
requirements.

Ensure all timesheets are completed accurately and submitted in accordance with payroll deadlines.
Track attendance trends, call-outs, tardiness, and schedule adherence.
Coordinate schedule adjustments and shift coverage when operational needs arise.
Escalate attendance or timekeeping concerns to management and support corrective action processes.


5. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
Enforce company safety policies and HMGMA site-specific safety requirements.
Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Monitor compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA standards, customer requirements, and company policies.
Ensure drivers conduct required equipment inspections and report safety concerns.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and operational safety issues.
Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce operational risk.
Support internal audits, customer audits, and compliance inspections.
Maintain a strong safety culture throughout the operation.


6. Customer & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary operational contact for company personnel, and other operational stakeholders during assigned shifts.
Communicate transportation status, delays, incidents, and recovery plans.
Coordinate with warehouse, production, logistics, and customer teams to resolve operational issues.
Escalate critical issues impacting production schedules or customer service levels.
Support customer satisfaction and continuous improvement initiatives.


7. KPI Management & Continuous Improvement
Monitor operational performance against established KPIs.
Analyze transportation performance, delivery accuracy, labor productivity, and
equipment utilization.
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend operational
enhancements.
Support cost-control initiatives related to labor utilization, overtime management, equipment usage, and operational expenses.
Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve service quality and
operational efficiency.

8. Reporting & Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
Review driver logs, attendance records, operational reports, and transportation data.
Track daily operational KPIs and prepare management reports.
Support billing verification and operational data analysis.
Ensure accurate documentation of incidents, delays, customer issues, and corrective actions.
Assist management with workforce planning and operational forecasting activities.


Required
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 5 years of transportation, logistics, manufacturing logistics, or yard operations experience.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety regulations.
Experience supervising hourly employees in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and shift coverage when required.

Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of transportation, automotive manufacturing logistics, or yard operations experience.
Experience supporting automotive manufacturing environments.
CDL-A license with practical yard or shuttle driving experience.
