 Hackbarth Delivery Service is a leading logistics and transportation company dedicated to delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to our clients. We pride ourselves on our commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and "hands-on" Logistics Operations Supervisor to join our team.
 
The Logistics Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the daily flow of work or of a specific segment, such as route launch, will have input and assist in driver negotiations but under the authority/oversight of a Terminal Manager. Conducts driver negotiations and enter into tentative agreements but will not implement them without the direct approval/oversight of a Terminal Manager, or Regional Director as appropriate. 
 
Compensation: $41,000.00 - $52,000.00 Annually 
Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • 7:00am to 5:00pm 
  • Occasional Saturdays may be required
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and work alongside a team of terminal staff, including supervisors, warehouse associates, drivers, and administrative personnel, while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
  • Operational Oversight: Provide hands-on supervision of daily terminal operations, including loading and unloading, sorting product, routing, inventory management, receive scanning, dock activities, and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
  • Independent Contractor Oversight: Supervise and support 7 independent contractor routes, ensuring service expectations, safety standards, and delivery performance metrics are consistently met.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all company safety standards and regulatory requirements while actively promoting and enforcing workplace safety protocols to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Customer Service & OS&D Communication: Maintain strong customer relationships by addressing inquiries, resolving operational issues promptly, and ensuring accurate and timely OS&D (Overages, Shortages, and Damages) communication with customers.
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage labor, equipment, fleet utilization, and materials to optimize terminal productivity and operational performance.
  • Facility Management: Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep while ensuring proper facility security procedures are followed at all times.
  • Cost Control: Monitor operational expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement efficient practices to meet budgetary and performance goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain regular reports on terminal operations, productivity, service levels, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify operational challenges and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
  • Emergency Route Coverage: Occasionally operate a delivery route during emergencies or staffing shortages to ensure uninterrupted customer service and operational continuity.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all applicable environmental, transportation, DOT, and workplace safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

  • Proven experience in a leadership or a related logistics role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in using logistics and inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in the logistics industry.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Contract negotiation experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications. 
  • Availability to work flexible hours as needed.
