Job description

The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing transportation and freight operations across multiple modes, including truckload, LTL, rail, and intermodal. This role ensures freight moves efficiently, cost-effectively, and on schedule while driving strategic improvements across the supply chain. The Logistics Manager serves as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams, with a strong focus on performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and manage end-to-end freight operations across truckload, LTL, rail, and intermodal transportation modes.
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies to improve service levels, reduce transportation costs, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Direct carrier selection, rate negotiation, and capacity planning to ensure optimal transportation solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, customers, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Monitor shipment performance, analyze KPIs, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery and service excellence.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex transportation issues, including delays, claims, and service disruptions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, customer service, and warehouse teams to align logistics with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards, including domestic and international shipping regulations.
  • Oversee preparation and accuracy of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline logistics processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analyze freight spend and logistics performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Manage and support vendor relationships, including performance reviews and contract negotiations.
