ReportsTo:   Logistics Manager                                                                                             

Division:        Retail Operations                                            

Essential Functions:


The Assistant LogisticsAftermarket Manager is responsible for managing the activities of thetransportation, warehousing, Attended Donation Centers, and outlet/salvageoperations in conjunction with the Logistics Aftermarket Manager, to promoteorganizational sustainability and growth. Directs the flow of donated,purchased, and outlet/salvage goods throughout the organizational network oflocations. Provides leadership and develops operational goals while guiding andpromoting employee development within the assigned departments. The assistantwill travel a minimum of once a week to all Attendant Donation Centers toensure workflow processes are being followed and that customer serviceexpectations are being met. This role will ensure maintenance and cleanlinessof the building meet department standards. Will conduct any necessary trainingneeded for the Attendant
Responsibilities:
1. Tolead warehouse, outlet/salvage, and transportation/logistics operations andsupervise staff
2. To oversee and manage the flow of donated, purchased, and outlet/salvagemerchandise between stores, donation centers, warehouses, outlet, and vendors.
3. To hold staff accountable and take any necessary corrective action to ensureaccountability and adherence to goals, policies, procedures, and direction.
4. To oversee and maintain in good order the maintenance of vehicles,machinery, and equipment.
5. To ensure all transportation safety regulations are followed to make foraccident-free driving, lowered insurance costs, and to ensure DOT regulatorycompliance.
6. To work to improve financial viability and sustainability of thetransportation, outlet/salvage, and warehousing departments.
7. To enforce and uphold organizational and departmental standards regardingfinancial performance, quality of work, reliability, safety, and efficiency.
8. To read, interpret, and take appropriate action on financial reports, laborreports, maintenance reports, salvage surveys, etc.
9. To work to reduce and minimize trash/waste expense to the organization.
10. To assist in the sourcing and development of salvage and recyclingopportunities throughout the agency territory.

11. To interpret and uphold employer policies and enforce safety regulations.

12. To streamline schedule for transportation department to ensure propersupport for all locations. Support includes pick-up/delivery of goods, outlet,and trash.
13. To identify opportunities and generate ideas to improve the Logistics,Warehouse, Outlet/Salvage Operations. 
Skills and Abilities:
1. Must be able to interact cordially andproductively with a variety of people.
2. Must be able to market Goodwill and explainthe mission.
3. Must establish and maintain effective workingrelationships with, and among, personnel while motivating and holding eachaccountable to put forth their best effort
4. Must be able to read, write and communicateclearly in English.
5. Must be able to work flexible hours on shortnotice, including nights and weekends, and occasionally long hours.
6. Must provide own transportation.
7. Must be able to lift up to 25# and up to50#'s occasionally with assistance
8. Must be able to engage in prolonged standingand walking and in frequent bending, stooping and stretching. Must exhibitproficiency in the use and operation of warehouse equipment to include palletjacks, tippers, balers, and material handling containers.
10. Must be certified to operate a forklift orobtain certification within 90 days.
11. Must be able to function in a workenvironment with high stress.
12. Must have knowledge of salvage commoditiessuch as Textiles, Shoes, Linens, Purses/Accessories, etc. Assist in on-goinggrowth of the Salvage operation to increase revenue and reduce recyclable itemsfrom going to the landfill
13. Must exhibit good judgment anddecision-making abilities.
Requirements:
1. Requires high school diploma or equivalent
2. Must have 5 years of leadership experience intrucking, warehousing, and Salvage Operations
3. Requires 3 years of Leadership experiencedirectly supervising other workers
4. Must possess knowledge of Department of Transportationrules and regulations.
5. Must maintain minimum automobile liabilityinsurance as required by the State of Louisiana and be insurable through theCompany's insurance carrier.
6. Must possess a valid driver's license andmaintain current registration and state vehicle inspection.
Working Conditions:
Frequent physical exposure to donated goodsmaterials The ability to tolerate frequent periods of high stress, manage aheavy workload and multiple priorities. Will work in a warehouse environmentwith forklift traffic, truck traffic, high noise level, and moving containers.
