Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Associates degree preferred
- Knowledge of Adobe Systems (Photoshop, RoboHelp, Creative Cloud, Actionscript, AfterEffects, Captivate, Dreamweaver); Microsoft Visio, Snagit; Camtasia; Rise; Learning Management Systems (ADP); Moodle; Syberwrks; Cisco Systems; HTML; Javascript or similar programs.
- Wabash requires reference/background, criminal, and drug screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by department.
About the Role:
Trainers provide curriculum and instruction to all associates for a thorough understanding of Wabash's jobs, orientation, and leadership. So that trained associates can apply learned knowledge to their position responsibilities. Trainers build and maintain productive relationships within the plant and community, educational and professional organizations; enhance and strengthen candidate and onboarding experiences; and promote a work environment where diverse talents, skills, and perspectives are sought, valued, and utilized.
Your Responsibilities:
- Under limited guidance develops, monitors, and revises training curricula
- Identifies and addresses training needs
- Researches new methods and best practices to incorporate into learning
- Sets learning objectives and tasks
- Obtains and creates course materials, handouts, and PowerPoints according to course objectives
- Determines principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurements for training effects
- Ensures utilization of recognized model of instructional systems design
- Presents, facilitates ad trains varied skill courses, workshops, and development programs
- Guides and leads organizational trainers and provides feedback in areas of improvement
- Serves in a train-the-trainer role
- Leads and audits the assessments of employee progress to evaluate the effectiveness of training
- Guides and develops other training staff
- Advances and supports organizational development initiatives
- Creates, revises, and audits contenet with e-learning and other platforms
- Acts as site administrator or assistant
- Serves as liaison with information technology and learning development team for system setup, enhancements, and troubleshooting
- Oversees training schedule
- Assists in training and coaching of managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development
- Develops and maintains organizational communications for promotion of training and development events and resources
- Oversee compliance of training requirements and plans
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
- Tracks attendance
- Prepares and distributes evaluation surveys
- Monitors supply inventory and orders supplies
- Creates and disseminates reports
- Determines the most effective and efficient ways to develop and deliver the right learning solutions, including experiential, instructor-led, blended, and/or e-learning methods
- Oversees the delivery of training and evaluates the quality and impact to employees
- Identifies and develops faculty/instructors throughout the plant to promote connections and synergies to ensure that critical requirements are identified and that integrated solutions are developed and delivered
- Supports, advises, and coaches leaders, teams, and/or peer groups toward the higher performance
- Builds and strengthens individuals and organizational capacity required to support the organizational needs and strategies
- Assists in ensuring that room or facility is prepared, supplies are available, and trainers are present
- Ensure equipment is in proper working condition
- Reserves rooms and facilities and books caterers
- Reports on the progress of employees under guidance during training periods
- Assists in the development and monitoring of spending against the training budget
- Collaborates in strategic training plan development and implementation
- Leads or serves on training and human resources-related committees

Physical Demands:
- Requires minimum of 5 hours standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, with a full range of body mechanics/movements
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of stairs and climbing in and out of trucks or working in tight spaces.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
Working Conditions and Environment:
The work environment includes exposure to high decibels of noise, temperature, weather variations, metal welding processes and chemicals, which may include solvents, undercoating, paint, and caulking. Fast paced environment with moving equipment and motorized vehicles running at all times.
