Position Summary:

Vali Incorporated seeks a highly qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic CDL Supervisor to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor will support equipment maintenance and repair operations for U.S. Army Reserve missions. This position is responsible for supervising, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining a variety of heavy power equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently in accordance with contract requirements and Army standards.

This position will analyze malfunctions and perform complex repairs and equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, scrapers, power shovels, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. The mechanic inspects and tests equipment to identify defects, disassembles and reassembles components using hoists and hand tools, and examines parts for excessive wear or damage. Duties also include replacing defective engines and subassemblies, conducting tests to verify operating efficiency, and welding broken or damaged parts as needed.

In addition to hands-on repair duties, this position provides direct supervision to personnel engaged in equipment maintenance, cleaning, assembly, and disassembly. The supervisor ensures that all safety standards are followed, maintenance records are accurate, and productivity goals are met. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor may also assist in repairs and maintenance of specialized machinery such as drilling, stripping, or continuous mining equipment. Performs all other positions -related duties and assigned or requested. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) is required for this position to meet the scope of contract operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and experience managing maintenance teams in a military or industrial environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Must have at least 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must possess operational skill on the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A).
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Army logistical and automated data processing policies.
  • Ability to analyze, develop, evaluate, advise, or promote improvements in logistical programs.
  • Ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress.
  • Skills verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and work instructions.
  • Ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to customers.
  • Experience in performing audits.
  • Must be a US Citizen or able to work in the US.
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check.
  • Must be able to pass random drug testing.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

  • Operates and repair all heavy equipment and forklifts up to and including 50,000 pounds lift capacity, and a variety of other equipment to trouble shoot faults and validate repairs.
  • Understands and uses safety items and personal protective equipment (PPE) that is mandatory and actively supports the EHS safety program.
  • Able to supervise employees in daily routine work functions and on the job training.
  • Required to perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping to handle materials.
  • Work in a noise level can range from minimal to intense.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Safety conscious attitude
  • Foster a cooperative and positive work atmosphere

Education Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management, or related field is preferred.

Preferred Experience/Education:

  • Former U.S. Army or Army Reserve maintenance or logistics NCO (E6–E8).
  • Experience with contractor operations in government-owned, government-operated (GOGO) facilities.
  • OSHA 10/30 Safety Certification or equivalent.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management, or a related field.
