Job description

Transportation and Logistics Manager.

Company Overview:
M&M Recycling is a family owned recycling company based in Locust Grove, GA, focused on providing reliable, efficient service to our customers and maintaining a strong, safety-first culture for our team. We operate a busy transportation and roll-off operation that is central to our ability to serve customers.

We value leaders who are hands-on, data-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made in real time and results are visible every day.

The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Transportation and Logistics Manager to own, lead, and scale our trucking and dispatch operations. This is not a desk-only role. You will combine daily, hands-on dispatching supervision with leadership of our driver team and oversight of fleet performance, safety, and compliance.

In this role, your work will directly impact on-time service, customer satisfaction, cost per load, and the overall profitability of the business.

Hours are M-F 545am-530pm and Sat 8-12p.

What You'll Do:
  • Run hands-on daily dispatch supervision for roll-off, dump, and live load trucks, scheduling container drops, swaps, pulls, pickups, deliveries, and internal transfers while adjusting routes in real time.
  • Lead, coach, and hold drivers accountable for on-time performance, safety, professionalism, and proper inspections, building a strong, high-accountability team culture.
  • Oversee fleet operations alongside maintenance, including preventative maintenance schedules, repairs, DOT inspections, and overall vehicle readiness and uptime.
  • Serve as the primary logistics contact for customers, aligning dispatch with customer expectations and company capacity while resolving service issues quickly.
  • Track and analyze key transportation KPIs, using data to improve route efficiency, driver productivity, deadhead percentage, turnaround times, and cost per load.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Within 3-6 months, daily dispatch is running smoothly with consistently high on-time service rates, minimal driver downtime, and strong container turns and truck utilization.
  • Driver performance, safety, and professionalism have improved through clear expectations, ride-alongs, coaching, and regular performance reviews and safety meetings.
  • Fleet uptime and compliance metrics are strong, with preventative maintenance on schedule, quick response to breakdowns, and clean DOT and safety audits.
  • Data-driven reporting and decisions are in place, with regular KPI reviews driving improvements in route efficiency, deadhead miles, cost per load, and overall output.

What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum 5+ years of real dispatching and transportation supply chain experience with roll-off trucks (required), plus experience with dump and live load trucking operations.
  • Proven ability to manage drivers and logistics operations in a fast-paced, high-pressure, blue-collar environment, making firm decisions with authority and respect.
  • Strong understanding of routing, scheduling, real-time dispatching, DOT compliance, and the use of dispatch software or TMS systems.
  • A hands-on, systems-driven leader who takes initiative, is comfortable with conflict and accountability, and can build and scale processes, teams, and a dispatch function over time.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • M&M Recycling requires drug testing of all employees.
  • We offer medical, dental, vision and 401K benefits.
  • 6 paid holidays, plus paid time off at 1 year.
