Job description

Logistics Manager - Truck Load
The Driver Manager is responsible for leading and building the strategic plan for Truckload Dispatch. This position provides leadership and project management throughout the combined PTG Logistics network, as well as implement changes when appropriate. This position's primary focus will be to improve driver management and increase profitability through effective route planning and dispatch.
Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to)
  • Benchmark each customer location for PTG asset utilization to become more productive and profitable
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and report opportunities during weekly staff meetings
  • Responsible for Driver Recruiting, including 2nd point of contact and managing onboarding protocols
  • Manage Drivers and Routes ensuring each truck is profitable and meeting all expectations of the FMCSA and the customer
  • Work closely with Truckload CSR to ensure proper route planning that will deliver the load on time and maintain FMCSA Hours of Service Requirements
  • Work closely with Truckload Administrator to ensure all payroll and customer invoices are completed timely and accurately
  • Manage driver and equipment expirations, ensuring FMCSA compliance
  • Manage driver time off and PTO Requests
  • Infuse continuous moves where possible into routes to offset PTG Logistics deadhead expense
  • Responsible for reporting truckload carrier metrics to management (service / delivery performance, and profitability)
  • Look for and Optimize backhaul opportunities at all sites

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and or 5+ years of experience in truck load operations in a management or supervisory role
  • Familiarity with FMCSA Regulations
  • Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Possesses a financial acumen - recording, tracking and reporting expense control
  • Strong proficiency in computer skills including all Microsoft Office products
  • Good verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to communicate in a professional/courteous manner
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • This is an in-person role M-F in Lebanon, TN
  • Time required to travel: 0%
