Summary:

The Logistics Supervisorโ€™s job is to maintain direct control over all plant floor operations in the Shipping and Receiving area by supervising union hourly employees throughout their dealings with these functions. They also ensure that all steps are taken to positively influence supply chain from raw material receipt and issuance through to finished good reporting and shipments. The Logistics Supervisor must understand functions of NetSuite, MRP, DCS, and systems to help employees through them and work with other shifts and departments to meet preset goals. Finally, they are responsible for developing and maintaining several offline functions, such as recycling, load confirmations, pallet programs, and so on.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Knowledge and Requirements:

All job offers are based on the conditions that the candidate can provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States and pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of the post-offer health assessment. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age. Must be flexible with working hours and available for overtime when needed.

  • Direct work of hourly Union employees in S&R areas
  • Reconcile Inventories of both Raw Materials and Finished Goods
  • Work with crews on importance of Lot #โ€™s in both areas for Trace, Hold, Recall
  • Conduct Safety and Quality communication meetings with crews; hold update discussions as needed, determine work schedules, overtime, open positions
  • Meet all S&R budget applications
  • Manage/Oversee shipping loads of FG, work with Traffic, Distribution, and Deployment on issues
  • Manage special projects such as, waste, pallets, supplies, inventories, computer systems
  • Oversee 2x a year raw material Inventories
  • Knowledge of food production processes a plus
  • Participate on plant cost savings team
  • Extensive knowledge of plant, policies, production needs, and labor relations
  • Cover entire range of plant floor dealing with all S&R employees on respective shifts
  • Ability to work any and all shifts, rotation is a strong possibility
  • Knowledge of Union contract, Safety, and Quality processes and procedures
  • Understanding of budgets and a drive to meet bottom line
  • Ability to reconcile and mange inventories
  • Effective Computer Skills
  • Able to manage large cross functional groups of Union employees in distinctly different areas


Education:

  • BS or BA in management, logistics, or related field a plus
  • Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree, especially in any situations involving supervision, warehousing, dock, etc.

Success Factors:

  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, NetSuite, and Power Point. A good knowledge of accounting practices is helpful. Good systems person who can provide effective results working within DCS, MRP, DRP, and other modular systems (Netsuite and RF Smart experience is a plus).
