QualificationsRequired:

  • General knowledge of the transportation and freight industry

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience writing routine reports and correspondence

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support daily transportation operations for a growing logistics team in Southfield, MI. In this role, you will coordinate freight movement, communicate with drivers and customers, track shipments, and help ensure on-time deliveries. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving problems while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain customer profile information and enter customer tenders into the transportation management system

  • Monitor daily pickups and deliveries to ensure on-time service

  • Communicate load status updates to customers, receivers, and account managers

  • Take check calls from drivers and proactively address potential service issues

  • Verify and validate load information prior to marking shipments as delivered

  • Schedule and reschedule delivery appointments

  • Accept or decline loads based on direction from account managers

  • Provide drivers with detailed routing instructions and delivery information

  • Investigate shipment shortages, overages, damages, and service failures

  • Complete required documentation and maintain accurate shipment records

  • Escalate issues and support resolution efforts to ensure customer satisfaction
