Job description

Position: Logistics & Export Specialist ๏ฟฝ Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD)
Full-Time | Hybrid
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics & Export Specialist to oversee and coordinate import/export operations for our Critical Power Solutions Division. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, managing transportation logistics, supporting import/export documentation, and coordinating domestic and international shipments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional with strong import/export expertise who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, compliance, and customer service are critical to success.
What You'll Do:
Import & Export Compliance
  • Classify products using applicable tariff and export control codes, including HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, and related regulatory classifications.
  • Maintain import/export classification data within business systems to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Prepare, obtain, review, and retain import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, USMCA documents, EEI filings, and customs records.
  • Verify customers, freight forwarders, and business partners against denied party screening requirements and export regulations.
  • Maintain export control records, including end-use certificates, routed transaction letters, and transaction compliance documentation.
Logistics & Transportation Management
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments via air, ocean, rail, and truck carriers.
  • Obtain freight quotations and optimize transportation arrangements to support customer requirements and project schedules.
  • Negotiate transportation agreements with domestic and international carriers to support cost-effective and reliable logistics operations.
  • Manage import and export shipments while coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and carriers.
Customs & Regulatory Administration
  • Review import documentation and freight invoices to ensure compliance with customs regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Verify duties, taxes, and transportation costs and resolve discrepancies as required.
  • Support C-TPAT compliance initiatives and maintain customs documentation accuracy.
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting international trade, shipping, and customs compliance and update procedures accordingly.
Shipping, Inventory & Warehouse Support
  • Support the management of offsite warehouse inventory and logistics activities.
  • Serve as a backup resource for shipping and receiving operations as needed.
  • Maintain hazardous materials shipping certifications and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Coordinate expedited shipments to support customer commitments and operational needs.
Financial & Operational Support
  • Review freight invoices for accuracy and approve for payment.
  • Process freight and insurance claims in collaboration with carriers and Risk Management.
  • Maintain databases and reporting tools to track import/export activity and compliance metrics.

What You Bring:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of international and domestic logistics, transportation, import/export, or trade compliance experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Skills & Expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. Customs documentation, import/export procedures, and international trade regulations.
  • Experience managing import and export compliance, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers.
  • Understanding of logistics operations and freight forwarding processes.
  • Ability to review and negotiate transportation agreements and commercial terms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business management systems.
