Job description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The Logistics Supervisors support the management team in order to maximize the results of the branch through the optimization of operational execution and delivery of service for customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate the Operations and Service Level of the operations
  • Support the managers to manage the operations to budget
  • Responsible for the timely administration of all reporting to the corporate office
  • Responsible for the scheduling and supervision of the staff at the Branch
  • Ability to tailor communication (both written and verbal) according to appropriate audience
  • Demonstrate leadership through work ethic and commitment
  • All other duties as assigned by Manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Implementation Supervisor
  • Conduct performance evaluation for direct reports
  • Recommend hiring, firing and promotion
  • Identify and resolve personnel issues
  • Ongoing coaching and mentoring of staff to develop skills to the highest level

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrate ability to manage and lead people
  • Ability to manage in a multitask role
  • Working understanding of a transactional or dedicated transportation model
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Resourceful, well-organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail-oriented
  • Ability to exercise initiative, good judgment, time management and problem-solving skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in supply chain and logistics
  • 3+ years' experience in related field
  • 1+ years' experience in leadership
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel
  • Familiar with logistics process

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000 based on skills and experience.

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. National and International travel will be (up to ___%) required in support of the position's responsibilities.
