Position: Site Lead Apprentice - CONUS
Location: Remote
Work Arrangement:
Willing to work up to 20 hours per week remotely during apprenticeship period. Upon successful completion of apprenticeship, must be willing to deploy OCONUS for typical 60 to 90-day rotations to support operations. Note that exact deployment cadence will be determined on a case-by-case basis per contract requirements.
Position Summary:
The Apprentice CONUS Site Lead will work closely with the Site Lead Manager, Flight Operations Team, Deployment Coordinator and additional functional areas to assist with establishing streamlined processes and procedures in preparation for OCONUS deployments. The CONUS Site Lead works with a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering essential operational support that enables safe, efficient, and successful UAS flight operations at overseas deployment sites. This role provides both strategic and day-to-day support in preparation for OCONUS deployments and mission support. The Site Lead fosters an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, and all team members can contribute effectively to mission success while upholding the highest standards of safety and integrity. This position is critical with creating and developing meaningful relationships with deployment team, support staff, and government customers through regular meetings and engagements.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in regular team meetings and working groups, learning organizational policies, safety standards, and current contracts pertaining to the role.
  • Assist Site Lead Manager with creation of OCONUS SOPs, tracking mechanisms, and providing constructive feedback and input to key stakeholders on process improvements.
  • Collaborate with section leaders prepare for leading, mentoring, and supporting a diverse team of staff and contractors, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
  • Mantain high team morale in challenging environments.
  • Monitor and enforce safety, security, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards across all site activities.
  • Assist OCONUS Site Lead with development and publishing of operational updates, status reports, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Represent the company with professionalism when interacting with local officials, clients, and partners.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support operational objectives.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in operations, logistics, or site management, preferably in OCONUS or remote environments.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure or rapidly changing conditions.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government regulations, export control laws (ITAR/EAR), and international operational compliance standards.
  • Excellent written skills; ability to maintain clear reporting and liaison between headquarters and deployed sites.
  • Working knowledge of UAS systems and operational planning tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for documentation, reporting, and presentation tasks

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications in operations management, logistics, or project management.
  • Previous experience supporting U.S. government or defense operations CONUS.
  • Working knowledge of international logistics, supply chain, contract management, and export restrictions.
  • Cross-cultural competence and experience working effectively in diverse environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational needs, prioritize tasks, and execute without direct supervision.
  • Familiarity with operational management systems, reporting tools, and emerging technologies for mission support.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, business, engineering, logistics, or related field preffered.
  • Equivalent military or civil aviation operational or management experience may substitute for formal education.

Clearance Level Required: Ability to obtain and hold a DoD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance as required

Working Conditions:
  • The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment or warehouse, to harsh climates, and/or hazardous situations.
  • While performing the duties of this position, may be exposed to a wide variety of extreme and austere environments found around the world from deserts to jungles and/or arctic environments.

Physical Demands:
  • Frequent travel to locations within the continental U.S. and once successful apprenticeship program, OCONUS locations.
  • Due to scheduling demands, must be able to work weekends as needed.
  • Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and traverse across uneven ground and varying terrain (frequent).
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (frequent).

Work Authorization Requirement:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Hourly Rate: $20.00
Hourly rate depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
