Job description

Job Summary:
Vulcan Materials Company is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates and a major producer of aggregates-based construction materials. They are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Logistics Analyst to optimize supply chain processes and ensure efficient operations, while also providing support and training to logistics teams.
Responsibilities:
• Build Analytics . Assist in building analytics, including distribution, end-user training, and end-user ongoing support.
• Provide Support. Provide on-site support as needed for Logistics Service Specialists, Directors and local operations. Support the trucking scorecard and data workbooks included in Excel and Tableau.
• Champion Continuous Improvement. Utilized analytics to identify enhancement opportunities. Work with Logistics Service Specialists and Supervisors on training, capability building, and continuous improvement.
• Create Training Documents. Manage the logistics readiness playbook. Document SOPs/best practices and create training documents.
• Track Activity. Utilize project management tools to manage activity tracking and administrative load. Track and follow up on logistics annual goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics or in a relevant Field
• 3 plus years of experience in a related field. Transportation/Logistics/Sales/Accounting/Business Systems/Operations experience is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional analytics experience.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have excellent computer skills.
• Must be able to maintain a positive attitude with the ability to remain calm and focused in a high stress environment.
• Must have ability to interface with all levels of internal and external customers.
• High attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and sound judgment.
• Initiates and takes action before being required to do so.
• Uses time efficiently; finds the answers and makes sure the situation is taken care of correctly.
• Responds promptly and accurately to customer requests for information; coordinates appropriate follow-up.
Preferred:
• Transportation/Logistics/Sales/Accounting/Business Systems/Operations experience is preferred.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, analytical visualization platforms (Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Power BI,...), advanced Excel capabilities, SQL, and logistics platforms is preferred.
• Familiarity with Excel, Oracle, SQL, and Tableau is preferred.
